Text window output has been greatly improved regarding speed. Overall speed (based on time spent inside actual drawing methods) on all text windows has been reduced by a factor of approximately 3. That means three times faster text output!
Timing tests based on movements (20 n 20 s on the map) in-game shows that v1.97 took approx 1500 ms with the map view visible and approx 3000 ms without the map. In v1.99 the same tests shows with the map view visible approx 350 ms and approx 1000 without the map. So, if you have been using v1.97 without the map, and switch over to use the map in v1.99 you will have text output speed increased with x8.5 for world movement. Overall speed (such as combat rounds) is still x3 improvement
The old '/partyTarget0-9' should now work as command as well as '/PartyTarget0-9'. Clicking on the party window should now also set the correct target
A new settings for "show menu at mouse cursor" has been added. It will display the ESC menu at the mouse cursor when the bottom task bar is hidden
A new option to set wallpaper with brigheness parameter has been added for scripts. Example: clientGUI.setWallpaper("mywallpaper.jpg", 1.3f); The float value represents brightness. 0.9 means 10% darker, 1.3 means 30% brighter

URL can either be a local filepath or an URL to a website file.

In scripts you can now access the variable "soundPlayer" which is available in the interfaces as SoundPlayer. For plugins you can access the sound player from the getClientGUI().getSoundPlayer().
A new tooltip manager has been added that can be used to display tooltips. The tooltips can be turned off/on in the settings menu. Some internal tooltips for the client will use this new system but it is also available in scripts and plugins. In scripts it has the variable "tooltipManager" and in plugins you can access the manager with getClientGUI().getBatTooltipManager().

/alias command now lists all aliases
Alias replacement now only replaces whole words. Ex. An alias for "port" in the string "I am ported from all pubs." Will NOT replace the port string in the "ported" word
Default font on Mac OS X should now be set to monospaced

It is now possible to change wallpaper of the client with scripts using the clientGUI.setWallpaper(imagePath) method. The imagePath can be either a path to a file on the local filesystem or an URL to a web resource
The mud server can now "push" a wallpaper to the client using special control codes. Wallpaper "push" can be turned off in the client settings
It is now possible to save a reference to a window created by a script and re-add it to the desktop by calling setVisible(true) on it again
The mapFrame example script shows how this is done. The client will save the reference to the window and re-add it to the desktop before it is set visible again so you only have to save your own reference and setVisible on it for it to work. In order to save memory you should assign your window reference to null if you do not wish to keep the window for later use so the garbage collector can take care of it
You can now set vertical and horizontal action buttons to always on top
The taskbar at the bottom of the screen now defaults to hidden. The ESC key or /quit command will now open a menu with the same options available as the taskbar. In the settings you can also enable the taskbar to show at the bottom of the screen instead of using the quit menu
Two new commands are now available to show and hide the taskbar. /taskbarShow /taskbarHide
A few ways to use client UI when creating basic components in scripts are now available. Check out the new example script: ui.bcs from the help menu.
Canceling the colorpicker when selecting ANSI should now actually abort selection and not set anything
You can now use the /search command to search for text in the current textpanel from the commandline. Ex "/search bat". Searching the same word several times will find more previous matches
The action buttons are now swappable between vertical and horizontal. Right click on the topbar of the buttonframe to switch mode. The commands are now changed to /ActionButtons1 /ActionButtons2 to show/hide the frames. The keybind actions to trigger different action buttons are now /actionbuttons1=action /actionbuttons2=action
The buff frame now has a bunch of new grid modes for showing text + icons in a single column. Right click on the buff frame to switch grid mode
A new action monitor has been added that shows spell and skill progress. It is available from the settings menu

Transparency and certain unix window managers should now work better together. (For example Ubuntu).
You can now set the battleframe scrollback buffer size by right clicking on the window.
You can now maximize most frames by right clicking (from menu) in the top bar or in the window.

The external libs for the realm map has been updated to most current version.

Two new commands /buffertop /bufferbottom can be assigned to keys or used from commandline. These will put the scrollbar to top or bottom of the window that belongs to the last used commandline.
It is now possible to add exclude filters (by the marker types) to the realm map. If you wish to exclude all fort markers simply add an exclude for "fort". (These also save to file between sessions.)
You can now assign the command "/BossSwitch" to a keybinding (default shift+ctrl+B). This funny little command will turn batclient into a featureless notepad with the title "Very important stuff". Hit the key again to turn the notepad back into batclient. If you wish to use separate keys you can also bind "/BossArrive" and "/BossDepart" to keys.
Center on movement with the realm map should now function better. It will only center when you actually move into a new coordinate. Several updates sent to client with the same coordinate will not center the view now as it would previously making it very hard to to use the scroll feature together with the center toggle.
When moving on the map your own marker should no longer get printed "double".
The bug with scroll-lock and default config has been fixed. Scroll-lock bugged previously in a fresh install first time you started the client.
A bug with the scrollback buffer size and the way text were "cut" off from the top has been fixed. Everytime the buffer gets filled now it will cut off 10% of the buffer.

The scroll lock thing should show more correctly now. Even if scroll lock was not ON before it would show as the window was not repainted correctly.
Using the mouse wheel should now work better with the split-mode scrollback. When scrolling to the bottom split-mode will be turned off.
You can now select if you wish to have "select all" mode on the commandline history when using up/down arrow.
When scrolling in the split-mode scrollback by dragging the bar with the mouse if the bar is at bottom when the mouse button is released split-mode will be turned off.
Using the up/down buttons in the scrollbar should now put focus to the last used commandline.
Realm map markers should now also save correctly with the continent field.
The bug with clientGUI.printText and html colors should be fixed.
When creating new markers for the realm map their tooltip will now display correct information. (Old markers need to be recreated for new html).
The bug with the face image in the party window when swapping locations should be fixed now.
When creating a new party focus will be kept at the commandline when the new party window pops up.

"Split-scrollback" is now available. You reach the scrollback with the Page Up/Down arrows or with the Pause/Break key. To turn off scrollback mode you use the Pause/Break key. Selecting text for copy is now easier in the scrollback view since it will not break selection on incoming text. Split scrollback is default turned OFF. To turn split scrollback mode ON you have to use the tab menu and turn it on under the "Scrollback" menu.
The bug with scripting and printing text without a newline (last character disappearing) should be fixed.
The login screen should get focus now after closing the introduction frame.
A new command "/commands" now lists all available client commands and global variables.
The news bug should be fixed. Now if you add the news channel to a tab it should not close the tab if it has more channels when you quit the news reader.
The commandhistory with the setting to select all after enter has been fixed so you don't have to hit the up arrow twice to get the previous command.
The space between the prompt and the commandline text area has been reduced.
You can now select to echo commands to the "generic" channel when they are typed in the commandline.
The color of the text printed for echo commands can now be selected.
You can now filter realm map markers by their continent. You can also search by their continent in the textbox. For example searching for "Laenor" will show both markers with Laenor in their name and all markers available on that continent.
When you select text it will now put on scroll lock so it will not scroll and break the selection. Scroll lock is turned off whenever the selection is broken. For example when you ctrl+c to copy it or click in the commandline.
When holding the mouse pointer over a face icon in the party frame a larger tooltip with the icon will be displayed.

The clickable command links which was broken in 1.80 should now work again.
You can now mouse-click on any room/world exits to perform movement

It is now possible to reset windows back to default positions. Notice that this will remove all non-standard/default windows that has been created.

It is now possible to target group members with the global variable @party_xy. For example @party_23 will target the member at row 2 in column 3 (middle right position).

Screen "flashes" when the scrollback buffer is being cut off should be reduced.
The realm map zoom level should now be saved and loaded correctly.
Mouse pointer over the action buttons should no longer produce weird focus problems on the commandline.
You can now use "/trigenable name" to enable triggers with names that starts with "name". "/trigdisable name" does the same but disables the triggers.
The quit dialog will now put focus on the yes button when it is opened so pressing ENTER will quit the client. ESC will still close down the quit dialog and put focus back on the commandline.
You can now set options on separate commandlines through the tab menu popup from right clicking.
The client should now handle huge input a little better (from traveling for example).
Client network routines now include a safe-check for special protocol codes that may have been lost or truncated on the server side. Previously large amount of textspam could get truncated and the client would receive only half protocol messages which could initiate long/infinite loops that caused the client to hang. This should no longer happen.
It is now possible to hide only the prompt without also hiding the commandline.
You can now create macros from within triggers using things like %1 etc.
It is now possible to disable news window so it will not popup when reading news.
Line feeds should no longer break ansi colors.

The selected party target will now show a gray lining in the graphics on the party window.
Default font is now set to "Monospaced" if "Courier New" does not exist on the system.
You can now select to use the high port 2023 instead of the standard 23 in the login screen.
Swapping players by dragging them around with the mouse in the party frame should work now.
External configuration is now added. This makes it possible to save your batclient state to a zip file and load it from a website when the client starts. Read more about this in the help menu under External configuration.

The server-side bell command should now produce a bell sound in the client again.
The map window should no longer make triggers run twice when it is closed.
The OOF frame should no longer auto-popup when it is in minimized state to the taskbar.

BatClient is now compiled for Java 6.0. The previous versions have been built for the older 1.5 version of the Java Runtime Environment. This means to run BatClient 1.80 you will have to use Java 6.0.
The way triggers are checked against incoming text have changed. Previously triggers were checked in every window that received text. In the new system the triggers are now only checked once against the main incoming stream of text before the result is sent onwards to the text windows. This should make the client more efficient and make triggers act more inline with what is expected by players. With the new system the old setting for "Only trigger in visible windows" is now removed.
The packages for the realm map drawing routines have been updated to the newest version.
You will now have to wait until all scripts and triggers have finished before you can log into the game from the login screen. Previously logging in while scripts were in the process of loading could cause concurrency bugs.
Vertical action buttons no longer show in the default layout.
The help menu for script files have been recoded and will now fetch all script files from the web instead of fetching them from the local batclient package. This way it is much easier for game admins to add new example scripts by simply uploading them to the webpage.
Hitting esc key opens the quit dialog. Typing esc again will now close the quit dialog.
The correct gender and corresponding image should now show on the maps and in the status monitor.
Text should be rendered with anti aliasing in the text output windows now.
The alert system for receiving text into window tabs is changed. Now if a message is printed into a visible tab (to the left of the current) no alert will be given to the tab. It is also possible to change the setting in the tab menu if the old way of always alerting is preferred.
Tab completion has been enhanced to include a setting for completing full lines of previously typed commands. If this setting is turned on and you try to complete the first word typed in the commandline it will check through your previously typed commands and try complete the full lines of them.
It is now possible to select if text should be rendered with anti aliasing and if it should render with focus on speed or quality. This is currently experimental and feedback is welcomed.
Text encoding should now work better for special characters.
It is now possible to create scaled viewports of the status monitor by using the right click popupmenu. It could be useful if you think the status monitor is too big on your screen. Note however that it is only a "viewport" of the status monitor and not the actual component. This means interaction with it is different. To interact with the viewports right click on them to get a menu. Also note that having many viewports up at the same time will affect performance.
It is also possible to create scaled viewports of the party frame.
Right clicking on the party frame now shows the different bar options again. It also include an option to select "auto-popup" mode (same as OOF).
You can now select in the tab-popup menu on windows if you wish to show bold font as bold or if it should use the lighter ansi color instead of making the font style bold.
Windows can now be moved outside of the desktop. It is also possible to select in the settings menu if windows should be "dockable" to the desktop edges or not. If this is turned on windows will "dock" to the desktop edge when they are moved close to it.
The last used commandline will now regain focus when clicking on several components such as party, status, actionbuttons and all standard bat frames and when switching between fullscreen modes.
The way ansi color and client protocol codes is parsed has changed. It is now done before any text is sent into the windows to display. This means all color codes are parsed into attributes before triggers are executed on them. (It were previously some bugs with color highlight triggers).
It is now possible to select "plain UI" on the map and battle windows. It will then remove the "bat" graphics on the corners.
A new alias manager has been added. Aliases are simple redefinitions of commands. To perform more complex aliases that include logic you have to make your alias call a script.
Examples:
/alias sm=smile
/alias ks=$kill (example how to call a script from an alias)
/unalias sm
/aliaslist
A new option for "auto-reconnect" has been added in the network menu. If this option is toggled on and the client looses the network connection it will try to reconnect every 10 seconds. The first reconnection is done instantly. A small bubble will appear above the network button to show that the connection has been auto-reconnected. If you click on the bubble it disappears and it also fades out of view by itself.
The bug with "scroll lock" and the filled text buffer should be fixed.
It is not possible to select if bold text should be colored with a lighter color instead of the bold style text attribute.
The status monitor now display changes since the current update. It appears on the status bars as for example "+30" and slowly fades away.
It is now possible to cause a system *beep* sound with the client command /beep or /bell.
A buff frame has been added that shows effects with icons. It can be viewed through the settings menu.
Icons for faces and buffs should now be fetched from the web in threadded processes so that it won't hang other client features meanwhile.
The scrollbars should now stay at the bottom when you resize text windows.
When you move tabs in windows the current focus should follow to the new tab location.
Markers are now saved in the realm map.

Additional commandlines should work again.
BatClientPluginTrigger now gags the received text if the trigger method returns an empty string "".
The wrong message in the "customtrigger.bcs" has been rewritten. A script trigger that returns null means it has not matched/executed. If it returns "" (empty string) it means it should gag the message and not send it onwards. If it returns a defined string (modified or not) it will send that text onwards to other scripts etc.
The order in which triggers are checked is: 1 plugins, 2 scripts, 3 triggers. It means that a plugin trigger matching against a certain text will be executed before a trigger that matches against that text.
You can now set the size of the scrollback buffer for a particular window with the tab menu. -1 means the scrollback will be unlimited. A value of 40000 means the scrollback is 40000 characters long. Approx 500 lines of 80 characters each.
The gag setting on a trigger should now correctly display in the triggermanager frame when a trigger is selected.

The commandline bug with using the arrowup key to access commands should be fixed. (When you issued a command pressed arrow up and used it again. Second time you pressed up you missed the command in the list.)
The status window should now save locked and alwaysOnTop state between sessions.
The party OOF frame now has the alwaysOnTop toggle.
It is now possible to bind the following commands to keys to toggle the state of windows: /PartyWindow, /OOFWindow, /BattleWindow, /KeybindingWindow, /RealmMapWindow, /ScriptWindow, /LoginWindow, /MapWindow, /HorizontalActionButtons, /VerticalActionButtons. They are default binded to the ALT+ keys. For example ALT+P for party window toggle.
It is now possible to bind party targeting functions on commands using /PartyTarget[1-9]. The party slots are numbered from 1-9 where 1 is first row left, and 9 is third row right. For example to target the person in third row right position the command /PartyTarget9 should be used.
The out of formation party frame is now larger and fits one more person.
The main windows now have slightly different (new) graphics and a minimize button. It is also now possible to minimize these windows to the bottom bar.
It is now possible to add ChangeListener(s) to variables in the global variable manager. It is done through the scripting system. A new script "variableChangeListener.bcs" has been added in the help menu to show how.
It is now possible to check if a trigger is active through the Trigger interface and also set it active or not.
A new addTrigger method has been added in the TriggerManager interface that creates a trigger including the script name. This script name will then be displayed in the trigger manager gui. All triggers created through scripts using the old methods will simply show an empty string ("") as script name.
A new GUI for the trigger manager has been added.
The script editor now have a copy/paste menu on right click with the mouse.
The "always on top" setting for components should now save and load correctly.
The quitdialog will now override the other "always on top" components.
Some new methods have been added to the BatWindow interface: isVisible() getSize() getLocation() addComponentListener() addInternalFrameListener()
Using the mousewheel in textwindows will now set the scroll lock to true.
The correct keybindings for the vertical actionbuttons have been addded to the default keybindings. Reload default keybindings to get the correct vertical actionbutton commands. "/verticalactionbutton=1" for example.
Selecting text in textwindow, scripteditor or triggermanager example script area will now automatically copy that text into the clipboard.
Some new keybind actions have been added: "/commandline moveCursorToEnd", "/commandline moveCursorToBeginning", "/commandline moveCursorOneWordForward", "/commandline moveCursorOneWordBackward", "/commandline historyNextCommand", "/commandline historyPreviousCommand", "/commandline deleteFromCursorToEndOfLine", "/commandline deleteFromCursorToEndOfWord, "/commandline deletePreviousWord".
The scrollback buffer is now infinite (or close to huh?) in text windows. To clear the scrollback (if it gets too big or eats up your memory) simply use the /cls command from the commandline.
When a player is in the OOF frame and leaves the party the slot will be removed from OOF aswell as the normal party frame now.
Tabcompletion will not remove all "," characters in completed words. Only the last "," after a word will be removed.
Tabcompletion now keeps an index state of how many times you have hit the tab key in a row. This way you can cycle through matching words. You can also use shift+tab to get the previous matching words. If the same word is present in several places, it will only be printed the first time to the tabcompletion. (The latest occurance of the word.)
The text labels in the triggermanager frame can now be clicked to select the value in the corresponding checkbox or radiobutton.
The labels in the triggermanager now use Tahoma size 11 font instead of the default label font (which could be different for mac/xp/vista).
When you create a new trigger the name field will be empty.
When creating triggers from the commandline the trigger manager frame will be updated.
The triggermanager now keeps a state if the current trigger needs to be saved or not. The save button will be grayed out until the trigger actually needs saving.
When selecting triggers in the list of the triggermanager it will ask if the current trigger should be saved before loading another (if it needs saving).
A "copy" label has been added near the example script area so the text can easily be copied to the clipboard by just clicking on the label.
The script editor now also has a horizontal scrollbar (no auto word wrap anymore).
Trigger manager will now show a popup with error if the regexp of a trigger is invalid when trying to save it.
Now if a hilite is missing color for a particular match index, it will use the first defined color instead. If no color is defined at all it will use default red.
In the trigger manager, priority 0 means "first" and priority "10" means last. So a trigger with priority 0 will be executed before a trigger with priority 10.
The realm map is now centered over the world. It is also possible to pan with the mouse over a larger area. The minimap is now set to the correct zoom when the real map is opened the first time.
The frames in the help menu are now single instances. They will only be created once.
It is now possible to select if a window should log commands. Any text entered at the commandline will then be sent to the logfile (if there is a current log running).
A new plugin interface (BatClientPluginCommandTrigger) has been added which can be used for plugins that should process commands before they are sent to the game server.
A new method addPlugin(BatClientPlugin) has been added in the PluginManager interface.
It is now possible to get a list of all plugins in the plugin manager with the new getPlugins() method in the PluginManager interface.
A new abstract method getName() has been added on the BatClientPlugin class which means every plugin must define a name. (Note that old plugins must be recompiled to include this method).
A new example script "plugins.bcs" has been added in the help menu that shows how to write a script that uses the PluginManager to list all loaded plugins.
The interfaces have been updated and you will need to include the new version of "bat_interfaces.jar" in your plugin projects.
The slot position bug with the party frame for Vista should be fixed.

Bugfix patch for 1.60 to take care of some of the critical errors that were present such as script loading and slow text flow.

Multiple duplicate commands will not stack anymore in the commandline history.
When accepting EULA the focus will be given to the account field in the login frame or the commandline.
Login password is no longer stored as clear text in the xml config file.
The bug with calling plugins from the commandline has been fixed. You can now call them with "$ClassName". If the plugin is part of a package it should be "$package.ClassName".
You can now use drag and drop in the party frame to move players between slots.
A vertical action button bar is now available. The default keybindings for keys has also been changed. Horizontal keys use F1-F12 and SHIFT+F1-F12. Vertical keys use CTRL+F1-F12 and CTRL+SHIFT+F1-F12.
Fixed the bug with weird disconnections when the ping monitor was disabled.
A new method has been added to the ClientGUI interface that allows scripts to print/echo text into channels and wrap them in a html color code (example FFFFFF for white). As a side note it has always been possible to add text into the message that includes "color codes" used with the client to color individual parts of the message.
Triggers without a body should no longer execute the empty text as a command to the mud server.
Player names are now displayed on the realm map above the player icons.
Hovering the mouse over a player icon will also display the player name in a tooltip.
It is now possible to right click on the realm map and select "center on movement" which will make the map center on your player icon as you move in the world.
A bug has been fixed in the autolog system that made the loading times HUGE for old log files when starting the client.
It is now possible to lock the status monitor location.
It is now possible to make certain frames "always on top".
Real map markers should now be correctly imported using the import feature. You can now export your markers to file and load them again through import.

New plugin framework. Similar to scripts but you code it in your favorite java IDE and plug the jar files into the client's /plugins/ directory. An example Eclipse (www.eclipse.org) plugin project is available (check www.bat.org site for more info).
CTLR+Z is now used to save action buttons. CTRL+ENTER was previously used but is since v1.5 default assigned to commandline focus keys.
The commandline history now only saves commands with 3 or more characters.
The commandline history now does not wrap the history with up and down arrows. When you come to the top or bottom it now stops.
The bug introduced in v1.5 that caused all beanshell created triggers to malfunction should now be fixed.
The quit dialog now got new graphics and randomized "bubble" messages.
The quit dialog will now automatically close itself when it looses focus in the client desktop.
The keybinding frame and the keybind input dialogs now have new graphics.
The keybinding keyinput dialog will now close itself if focus is given to another frame.
CTRL+SHIFT+ENTER will now add a new line in the commandline instead of just SHIFT+ENTER.
The realm map and all help frames now use a "standard" UI for their frames with options to minimize and close.
The status monitor now got close and minimize buttons.
The map and battle frames can now be minimized through the right-click popup menu on their text panels.
The keybinding frame can now be minimized as well.
The script editor now uses new graphics and can be minimized.
The html (help) frames now uses new graphics and can be minimized.
The map, battle, party and all "standard" frames (such as realm map) can now be locked through the right-click menu.
SHIFT+ENTER should now work as normal ENTER in the commandline.
When you close the OOF frame it should be automatically cleared.
Focus should be set on the last used commandline when the OOF frame "pops" up.
You can now select in the right-click menu in the OOF and party frames if they should be "auto popup" or not.
The bug that caused the client to hang and eat up 100% cpu when you moved a window that was partially out of view has been fixed.

Fixed the bug with index out of bounds when reading news.
It is now possible to "lock" windows so they cannot be moved with the mouse. It is a setting under the tab menus.
The keyboard backspace bell sound that was reintroduced in 1.41 (mainly for Vista) should be gone again.
Text that goes into the map window will now be sent through the trigger functions as well.
The "move all frames into view" should now work for frames that are either outside of the view at the top of the desktop or the left side. (It failed to set those correctly before.)
You can now also change transparency settings for map and battle windows.
The "useTrigger" parameter when creating triggers should now work as it should.
The /trigtest command (internal for the client) will produce a little more output now indicating which triggers that give a match to the argument string.
Rooms that does not support map, should no longer spam into the generic window when the map window is closed.
A new partyframe has been added. It shows the status of your group. You can change the way statusbar texts are displayed by right-clicking at the top of the frame. You can also change alpha settings from that menu. Right-clicking on the different party "slots" when they are occupied by players gives you a menu with handy party commands if you are leader.
An out of formation (OOF) party frame has been added. This frame will show party members that are out of formation in the party.
It is now possible to use global variables through the commandline (commandparser) with the format "@variable".
Keybindings should now send their commands through the commandparser and not directly to the server. This way global variables can be used inside keybinding commands.
If you left-click on an occupied slot in the party frame you will "select" that player and put the name of the player into a global variable called "partyTarget". To tell the person you have clicked on you can use: "tell @partyTarget your message". With this variable you can assign keys or macros to perform certain actions against the selected party member. For example you could set F1 to heal selected member and when you see their health bar go down, you click on their slot and press F1.
Two more global variables are available. "selectedTarget" which will be set whenever you click on stuff in the main text window for example, and "latestTarget" which will be set whenever you click somewhere both in the party frame and in other windows.
You can now see your own location on the realm map. If you right click on the map you can also select "move to YOU" which will center the map over your location in the world. You will also see the location of all your group members.
It is now possible to bind the command "/commandline focus" to any key for setting the focus to the last used commandline.
A new trigger menu has been added in the settings menu. You can now select if triggers should only be triggered in visible windows. You can also toggle the debug mode on triggers. If debug is on, it will send debug information to the "trigger_debug" channel. (Enable this channel in a window if you wish to see the debug output).
The commandline backlog functionality now includes any unfinished commands that are written when the history up arrow is pressed. (The unfinished command will be put at the end of the backlog as if it has been executed like a normal command).
The tab menu that popups when right-clicking on window tabs should now work with left-click + control key as well.
The character face images used in the party frames and the realm map window should now be fetched from the web server based on the player name. If no image can be found for a particular player, a default image based on race and gender will be used instead.
All triggers will now be checked against incoming text. Before only one trigger was executed and others that should have triggered on the same text were skipped.
"Auto-logging" has been added. Each tab in each window can be configured to be autologging. It will then start logging automatically when the client is started. The logfile is created with the following name format: "yyyymmdd-tabname.txt".
A new "status monitor" has been added. It can be opened from the settings menu. It will show your personal status, ep, sp, hp and your current target.
Words shorter than 3 characters are no longer triggered with the tab autocomplete feature in the commandline.
A space character is inserted after tab completed word now.
All tab completed words will be printed in lowercase to the commandline.
When clicking the close button on windows the focus will be returned to the last used commandline.
When opening windows from the bottom menu bar the focus will be given to the last used commandline.
Tab autocomplete will now search through your commandline history for words as well.
You can now change the default ansi colors in each tab through the tab-menu.

Fixed the history "arrow up" bug that jumped one command too far back in the history.
Hitting the escape button or using the /quit command should only open one single quit dialog now.
Fixed some bugs with clickable URLs in text windows.
Command lines now have "tab completion" of words in the scrollback history. If you type "compl" and hit the tab key the word will be replaced with "completion" if that is the first word in the history that matches the typed unfinished word.
Action buttons should now send their commands through the internal command parser instead of directly sending their text to the game server. (This way it will go through macros and other features).
Clicking on a marker on the realm map should now open a popup with the same information as the mouse hover tooltip.
A new client command "/frameToBack" will send the currently selected frame to the back of the desktop. For old users you should set this command to a keybinding of your choice. For new users the command will be default binded to "CTRL+B".
It is now possible to get an ArrayList of the currently created triggers in the TriggerManager interface.
Triggers can now be created with a variable "priority" which indicates in which order they should be arranged in the TriggerManager. The priority decides which triggers are called first when checked against text. The Trigger interface now included getPriority() and setPriority() methods. Triggers with priority 0 are called before triggers with priority 2 and so on.
Logging should now include the correct linefeed characters.

Script loading is now handled through its own thread. This should not "lock" the GUI when the client starts up. (Loading will continue while you log into the client).
A new default background image has been added. It is possible to switch between the two default backgrounds in the settings menu.
The script method "createPromptPanel()" has been temporarily disabled. For now all channel windows use the default prompt. This fix the bug that causes the prompt to disappear when using the script bootup feature.
URLS will now be trimmed from leading and ending ' characters. It will also be trimmed from ending . characters. (If for example the URL is the only word in a say or tell).
It should now be possible for URLS to span over several lines and still be clickable.
Fixed a bug with the "catch-all" channel that printed both into the catch-all channel and any other channels in the same window making text print several times. (Long URL).
A window with the "catch-all" channel will now NOT use the "clear" window client code feature. (Which is normally sent after the map). This way you can put the catch-all channel on a window and it will act as a "normal" client and receive all input without messing up when it receives the map.
The tab popupmenu should now use the same UI graphics as the bottom menubar. The font selection popup on the battle and map frame should now also use that graphics.
The quit dialog now uses the internal bat frame UI.
Right clicking on the bottombar menu buttons will close them again.
A new "Realms map" frame has been added. It works similar to the "google maps" and allows zoom and pan on the map. It can be found under the settings menu.
It is now possible to move the caret up to the previous line in the commandline when it has multiple rows with the UP arrow key, and forward to next line with the DOWN arrow key. When there are multiple rows in the commandline CTRL must be pressed together with UP and DOWN to step out of the multi-line mode and jump backwards and forwards in the history. Now you don't risk to accidently press DOWN or UP and jump in history when writing a large message when you are at the top or bottow row.
A new menu option for "new generic window" has been added.
Right clicking in the text areas will now open a popupmenu with a "Ctrl+C" option which copies the currently selected text to the clipboard.
When the map or battle windows are closed the text will be sent to the "generic" channel instead of opening the windows.
The "connect" option in the network menu when disconnected has been changed to function as "reconnect".
It is now possible to right-click on the commandline and get a popup menu with copy and paste options.
The menu structure has changed slightly.
A new toggle has been added in the tab popup menu to set the command line as "select all on enter".

The menu "disappear" bug should be fixed for people using Java JRE 1.5. (The bug that didn't close the menu when clicking elsewhere in the client). It is still recommended to run the client through Java 1.6 to increase performance. http://java.sun.com/javase/downloads/index.jsp

It is now possible to add a trigger action body to triggers created through the scriptManager inside scripts.
A message indicating which script file is being loaded will now be printed to the main text window.
Messages will now be printed to the general channel when scriptreload is starting and ending.
Script files that lack the SCRIPT_NAME variable will now show a debug message to the general channel when they fail to load.
A new MacroManager (macroManager variable) can be used through the beanshell scripts to assign and unassign macros. An example script (macro.bcs) has been added in the help section that shows to to use the macroManager variable.
The keybind actions to navigate between tabs are changed to "/switchtab forward" and "/switchtab back". When your client gets updated you will still have the old bindings and the tab key (or whatever keys you have assigned) might not work. You will need to rebind the key with the correct action or restore the default keybindings.
Two new keybind actions are now available to switch between the internal frames of the client. "/switchframe forward" and "/switchframe back".
CTRL+TAB is default binded to "/switchtab forward" and CTRL+SHIFT+TAB is default binded to "/switchframe forward".
The keybinding listener frame has been recoded slightly and now triggers on "released" key rather than "pressed". This way it is easier to record combinations. A bug has also been fixed with the key events from the tab key so that it should work to use the tab key now in any kind of combinations.
SHIFT+ENTER key combination should now function the same as a simple ENTER keystroke from the commandline.
Two new example scripts (prots.bcs and rounds.bcs) have been added.
It is now possible to create standalone commandline objects through the settings menu. (Functionality of these might be improved in the future).
If there are network problems so that the ping response for the network monitor at the statusbar takes longer than 5 seconds to receive the label will be updated with a red "Warning..." sign.
The match hiliting has been revamped some and should now function a little better. (The multi-color hilite bug should be fixed among other things.)
A new WARNING message has been added to the /scriptreload feature and the scripting guide in the help menu. This message is hopefully making people aware of the powerful features included in the BeanShell scripting and what harm it may cause to use non-trusted scripts that are written with malicious intent.

WARNING! Never load or install scripts that you do not trust completely. You should preferably never install anything that you have not created yourself. Malicious scripts written by bad people may act as viruses, trojans or spyware. Malicious scripts may cause damage to your computer, your economy or your health! USE IT AT YOUR OWN RISK! Also make sure you read the EULA once again before you start using scripts.
Entered commands are now sent directly to the "last_command" channel. If you wish to echo commands into a frame you can add that channel to a tab window.
The script editor now includes a label that shows which current file that is being edited. The file changes when you "open" or "save as".
A new "reload file" button has been added to the script editor. This button only reloads the current file that is being edited and not every script file (as with /scriptreload). Now you don't need to wait for reloading every script just to edit something simple inside a single file.
The reload script feature is now using an own thread for loading scripts. It should then not block the client UI or text windows.
A new "delete" button has been added to the script editor. When used it deletetess the current file that is being edited from disk. (The text in the editor still remains intact however).
A new variable has been added for scripts called "directory". This points to a Java File object that represents the directory that the script is loaded from. A new example script "file.bcs" has been added that shows how to access files in the script directory. For larger scripts that may include files such as images or other data should preferably be created inside their own directory and be distributed in a .zip file. Then you simply have to unzip the file into the scripts directory. This way scripts that require their own images and data files are easier to maintain. (Scripts are loaded from the script directory recursively so you can have as many sub folders as you like with scripts).
A new interface has been added called BatWindow. This is an interface for the internal windows that can be created inside the client desktop. A new method in the "clientGUI" has also been added called "createBatWindow(name, x, y, width, height)". This creates a new window in the desktop. (Notice that you have to call setVisible(true) on the window to actually make it visible). The first tab in the window gets the "name" as tabname and is created with an empty panel. When you create your own panels and want to add them to the window you should remove the first empty panel. (Look at the BatWindow interface in the javadoc for more information about what methods you can call on the windows).
A new example script called "mapframe.bcs" has been added in the help menu. This script shows how you can create an own BatWindow and populate it with tabs and panels. The panels in this example scripts are drawing the map images from the bat.org site. (Check the script for more information).
A new example script called "fileloading.bcs" has been added in the help menu. This script shows how you can load text and images from files.
The code for cliking on URLs and opening a webbrowser has been changed. (It should fix the old IndexOutOfBounds exception that was poppping up for certain URLs.)
When hovering the mouse pointer over a http:// link a tooltip will show the full URL.

New command /set var = value
This is a convenience thing for altering the global variables in the client from the commandline. It is also possible to manipulate these from within BeanShell scripts by using the "gvars" reference. For example gvars.set("var", "value");
Addding a trigger with an already existing trigger name will overwrite the old trigger.
New command: /hilite pattern = all|match plain|bold|italic #FFFFFF
Creates a trigger that will hilite either the full line or the matches of the regexp pattern with font style and an hex color (#FFFFFF is white).
Example: /hilite regexp = all bold #FFFFFF
It is also possible to create hilites from scripts through the TriggerManager by sending in the right parameters to the createTrigger method.
New command /varlist
Lists all defined global variables.
A few example scripts has been added in the help menu. These are not default loaded into the client, but can be created by the user for testing if they open them and save them in an editor.
You can now also add more than one color to the hilite command. When you use a match hilite the first color will be put on the first match, the second color on the second match and so on.
Example: /hilite test (\w*) drops (\w*) to the ground. = match bold #FFFFFF,#123123
Internal bug messages from exceptions and other errors inside the client will be printed to the "bug" channel now. So if you wish to see any errors that might happen you should add the bug channel to a frame.
URLs should now be clickable inside text windows. They will also display with underlined attribute and the mouse pointer will change on mouseover to indicate it can be clicked.
It is now possible to define a method "trigger()" inside scripts that will make the whole script act as a trigger. This could be used if you need to make a very custom type trigger in which you handle all parsing of the input yourself.
Fixed a slight bug in the map window that made it appear 1 line too high initially.
Commands are now split up by "%;" instead of ";". Example: "smile%;grin".
It is now possible to add "catch-all" channel to window tabs. A tab that has catch-all will receive all incoming text from the server. (This also works with the existing "*" channel). (Notice however that the map sent to the client includes a "clear" code that will clear the current frame from all text. Any channel that catch-all text will get this map code as well and empty the frame when looking at a map room.)
+ and - on the numpad should now trigger "down" and "up" movement commands.
The "map" bug that somtimes showed up when using the map command should be fixed.
The network latencty monitor has been recoded to use telnet code instead of "normal" mud commands. This should make it possible to run the network monitor without messing up the "idle" timers or login prompts.
Creating a new macro with the same name as an old will overwrite the old.
The client now uses a static panel above the commandline to display the prompt.
CTRL+SHIFT+TAB should now go backwards in the tabs of the selected window.
Using /tabswitch or /tabback (default assigned keys to ctrl+tab and ctrl+shift+tab) will now switch the first available window that has a "generic" channel assigned to it if the map or battle frames currently have the focus.
A new menu option "move all frames into view" under the settings button has been added. This will move all frames that are outside of the desktop (not visible at all) to position 0,0. This is useful if you use the client in a high resolution and change to a smaller desktop area and cannot find your bat windows.
The regexp pattern when creating triggers/hilites from the commandline must now be inside two special delim characters. The default characters are ''.
/trig name 'regexp' = body
Note that the = character is no longer used in the /trig commands!
A new command "/regexpdelim" has been added. This command takes an argument that will be used as the '' characters around the regexp pattern when creating triggers and hilites. '' are the default characters. Example: /regexpdelim " will change the characters to "".
The regexpdelim character will now save down into the config files between sessions.
Text sent through the trigger parser is now first stripped out of all ANSI code and client control codes. These are not visible in the text windows, but was previously present in the text that was sent to the triggers. Therefore a lot of triggers might have not been triggered as they should have been.
The triggerManager.newTrigger() method is now overloaded so you can use it with less arguments. Example:
triggerManager.newTrigger("name", "regexp, "body");
The trigger manager regexp matching has been rewritten to not require the regexp to match against the entire line. For example if you want your trigger to match any line that includes the word "dragon" anywhere in the line you can set the regexp to "dragon". Previously you had to write a regexp that matched the whole line such as ".*(dragon).*" or something similar to that. If you want to be able to use the matched text in a hilite you will need to surround your regexp word with braces such as "(dragon)".
New method in the triggerManager interface is now available:
newMatchHilite(name, regexp, color[], fontstyle);
The SCRIPT_OFF variable for turning off a script has been changed to SCRIPT_ON. To turn off a script just set the variable to SCRIPT_ON = false; If the variable is not defined the script will be on by default.
The menues now use custom batclient graphics.

The help menu in the bottom menubar now include a submenu for sections about scripts, triggers and macros.
The default keybinding for numpad 7 (northwest) should be fixed now.
A new network latency monitor has been added. The latency and status of the connection can now be seen in the menubar of the client at the right bottom corner next to the clock and fullscreen button. (This should also make it possible to directly see when the client gets disconnected).
There is a problem with the current implementation: your idle timer will be reset at every ping to the game server. This should be fixed in upcoming versions. To turn off the ping service you can simply click on the label in the menubar.

A new script editor frame can be opened from the settings menu.

Fixed the bug that showed an empty line at the bottom of the text input. (Temporary fix).

Optimized a few lines of code in the network parser.

The "�� hang" bug has been fixed.
A new indicator will now display in the text window when the scrollback is locked. A red text in the lower right corner will say "Scroll lock". The lock can be cancelled by issuing any command or an empty RETURN. When the scroll is locked, new text coming into the window from the game server should not scroll it down to the bottom.
Fixed a display bug that caused lines to get cut off in the text window.
Connection messages should no longer display in a popup. Instead it will be displayed in the login frame below the buttons.

Fixed the copy/paste bug.
Made a few changes to the text window scroller.

A new version of the EULA is now added.
It seems the copy/paste thing from the text windows that had a commandline visible was broken for the newest version of java (1.6.0). It has been fixed so that it will work for the newest version primarily.
"About BatClient" changed to "About the client".
"Changelog" and "On the horizon" frames now uses the same font and rendering as the EULA frame.
The Desktop button has been removed and its content has been moved into the settings menu button.
The map and battle windows now have a radio button in the settings menu that displays wether they are visible or not like it is for the action buttons.
It is now possible to define the command "/clc" in a keybind to clear the last used commandline. This could be added to the CTRL+U for example (which is the default keybind for it). The ESC key is default binded to the action "/quit".
ALT+F4 is now a default keybinding for the "/quit" action. It is however not certain this will override the operating systems default action for closing down an action on all computers.
The command "/del" can be used to trigger a delete on the commandline to delete a character in the commandline. It is default bind to CTRL+D.
The command "/backspace" can be used to trigger a backspace on the commandline. It is not binded default to any key.
The default keybinding for numpad keys 7,9,3 and 1 are now northwest, northeast, southeast and southwest. (All numpad keys can be redefined using keybindings if needed.)
It is now possible to right-click on the map and battle frames to open a popup menu where the font can be changed. (The font is also saved into the config files as with the standard channel windows).
Fixed a bug with the commandline history that caused errors after 20 commands were been entered.
A new keybinding frame has been added which replaces the old menu options for adding keybindings. All keybindings are visible in this frame and are much easier to manage.
The toggle in the settings menu for map and battle window should now show/hide them correctly.
Recoded the scrolling of the text windows slightly. It is not certain this will fix the reported scrolling bug (that didn't scroll the window for some reason). Please report if it still occurs.
The client command for switching tabs in windows is now called "/tabswitch" instead of "/paneswitch". (It appears that the reported bug with tab switching is now also fixed. Atleast on the development computer, running with JRE 1.6.0).

The last used (focused) commandline will now automatically get focus when you type something on the keyboard. (Fixes the annoying thing when you click on another window and move it around and then looses focus on the commandline).
The mud command "term" should no longer cause the client to crash. For example "term dumb" and "term ansi". (The output from the mud is somehow not compatible with the client protocol at the moment it seems).
The command "mxp map off" should also no longer crash the client. As with the term command above the output the client receives from the usage of these commands is not supported by the client at the current stage.
