The taste of wild blueberries
When I smiled into your eyes
Such sweet and tender memories
Of the life you and I left behind.
The sight of a yearling fox
As I smiled into its eyes
Reminded me of the days when
Our last promises were being made
The sound of rustling trees in breeze,
When I smiled my eyes were blind
Staring through closed lids at the sky
The thoughts, and solitude, were mine.
The scent of full-summer roses
When I smiled into her eyes
Drawing blueberry kisses from her lips,
Ah! What we two have been denied.
