How could this be???
"You start concentrating on the skill.
You are prepared to do the skill.
You remember too many locations for your ability.
You forget some of the locations."
How could I've possibly remembered more locations in the first place??

I guess you just reinced, got some navs and tried to access your locations without training your location memory high enough.

You had maximum amount of locations remembered and tried to remember more.
Wis also affects the amount of locations you can remember so you might have had more locations remembered than you could remember.

Talked to some people, figured out what caused this...
Had memmed almost max (max - 1 if I recall it right), died, gotten ressed, I
typed "use location memory at list" then *POOF* this utterly sucky coded skill
notices "hey, this player has lower wis and this skill is wis-dependant!" ==>
I got screwed.

How about some nice wiz looks into this and re-co(nsi)de(r) it? IMHO wis
should have nothing to do with it and if it should then only AND entire base
wis should count (wis from race, background, guilds (including SS's), boons).
Temporarily loss of wis should not fuck up the memmed locations.

I say you should just live with it. It is just whining for more chocolate. If
you take it to the edge,,
it's your own fault. Why not just tune it so that the oldest remembered
locations are randomly forgotten automatically, so you newbies or highbies or
whoever would have
to run and remember those locations again. Big deal.
Get a map and stop worrying or do something. Learn to play.

Well, I suspect this is an unintended feature (read: BUG).
If you happen to like it, it's your fault.

Ever thought that the stat drop on several things is actually a stat drop, not some passing feature which has no penalties? If wis is the affecting stat, then you become more stupid when you are hit by a curse/death penalty/etc.

If something bugs, it\'s the fact that you ONLY lose them when you use the skill. They should always be checked when you lose some stats. This way you could only reliably keep a few locations with low skill%, which would be really good uptune to otherwise quite useless extra navigator levels.

I totally agree with Spiral on his post, if you have whining to do, do it in the flame newsgroup.
