Balanced Alternative Techniques ry and Mythicscape team up to
produce client platform for vast Internet multiuser games.
Helsinki, Finland . May 9th, 2006 . Balanced Alternative
Techniques ry ("B.A.T. ry"), an award-winning Finnish
organization dedicated to the development of free massively
multiplayer games (MMORPGs) announced today that it has
entered into collaboration with Mythicscape, a Swedish company
with expertise in the field of java client development. The
collaboration will provide the players of B.A.T. ry.s flagship
game ("BatMUD", http://www.bat.org/) with improved gaming
capabilities utilizing the existing game infrastructure, as
well as provide an easy entry for new players.
"Traditionally text multiplayer games have provided a deeper and
more detailed gaming experience than their graphical counterparts,
but have been hindered by a steep learning curve", said Tomi
Valkeinen, chairman of B.A.T. ry. "With Mythicscape.s expertise
in client development, we will be able to bring an easy-to-use
graphical interface to our players free of charge, without
sacrificing the depth of possibilities the gaming platform offers".
"We are honoured to be working together with B.A.T. ry in creating
a rich and userfriendly client for BatMUD. It is a challenge to
turn pure textbased games into userfriendly environments that
quickly integrates new players into the game. Custom game clients
are definitely the future for testbased games that want to stand

The release of the client platform is scheduled for fall 2006.
