I'm not 100% sure how entity control currently works, but I believe if you cast
a non rift blast during combat it will always cause control to drop. At least
I've never kept control after casting any non rift offensive spell.

I wonder if it could be tweaked to allow you to keep control if you have enough
entity control skill and mastery and the damage done is small enough.

For example mob is at %5 health, you could then finish with magic missile,
disruption or in my case mindseize.

I don't think this would be much of a power upgrade, but it would sure help
when making rep/xp.

Regards,

Kirth

You will keep the control when your entity is using it's skill and you have
relevant riftwalker task(s) done.

Hasn't been a problem for me ...

It's may not be as much a problem for mages or with other entities, but for a
PSI with a fire entity. A 3 - 4 round fight becomes a 12 round fight because I
have to open with mind seize, a spell which causes no damage.
Where as when I was a mage i could open with acid blast, make good damage and
still get rep/essence or whatever.

I don't care if i have to train entity control/mastery of rift entities to 100,
if it would make mind seize not break control it would be worth it to me.

Yeah, but the error is already known - psi. Unless you do off exp, there is no
point in playing one, and if you _want_ to play off exp, I am sure other tanks
will help your fire entity finish off the mob..

That said, I find the whole guild sad, 35 levels for one type that is bad
against undead, has lousy rep system and damages you.. and woot, stunning in
off parties? gg. Someone could consider tuning it to say, 25 levels, to account
for it bringing to table less than 30 level channellers.

What's wrong with using rift pulse?

Rift pulse fits the bill in most situations apart from mindseize, so you're
basically asking for mindseize to not count as an offensive when using fire
entity? Not sure that will happen when you can use air/water/earth instead of
fire
