Alright. so.
theres this stonehenge looking area (not stonehenge) and each menhir..
or stone must have a runestone slotted into it. How many is up to the
particular coder.. and whether or not material type is important.
This could involve an unassigned rune or something else.. up to you.
anyway. this creates an unstable pocket world which allows access to higher
level runestones or something. maybe you can only cast certain runespells
in these worlds? or maybe this gives you access to creation components..
a whole new set of runes that aren't normally accessible.
whilst in this world.. your stonehenge runestones are slowly decaying. This
gives you only a limited time within this place. If coder is particularly
generous, perhaps marlor trees grow in this (for ex).. life attuned world
or its a barren wasteland filled with Zombies. .etc.. each having a certain
appeal or set.
crap this really does sound a bit like stargate.
Anyway maybe that afore mentioned world full of hippies and trees and rare
wood would allow you to harvest enough marlor to craft your fabled runestaff
which would allow you to build runerep ?
This sort of also ties in with another thread - I think the one labeled
'wheeee' - wherein ideas were posed involving multiple worlds.
It would add several benefits.
1. It would finally make runemages desirable for parties. Cant go into a
runemage's mini-worlds without them! The mini-world could be populated by
randomized creatures, so finally a unique source of different organs for
alchies - especially tendrils. It could also perhaps imply explorable areas
with different probabilities of special materials or items or such, never know
what you're going to get until you get there, type things?
2. It would allow for a lot of freedom for wizzes to add new things of all
sorts.
3. More but I can't think of any and need to go at the moment.
