Tracking a ship is a nearly impossible task; only the best rangers are capable of doing it well. These masters have learned to recruit aid in their search, namely that of the creatures of the wild. Once sent on their mission, these creatures become messengers, which enlist still more creatures in their search. They will search for quite a while, although not indefinitely. Eventually, they will return to the spot where their quest began, and report on their discoveries, if any. This skill requires great knowledge of the world and how the animals in it live; as such, there are numerous ranger skills which boost the effectiveness of ship scouting. Also, over very long distances, animals tend to get a bit confused.
