One spell that has many uses, is the spell that is able to dispel any magical protections imbued on a target. Offensively, removing the protections cast on your foe, leaves him open to many different attacks that those protections may have otherwise thwarted. Defensively, it is useful to removing protections that are about to dissipate in order to cast fresh spells upon the target. Everyone knows that any protection that falls during combat, could be a vital turn in the battle indeed. While this spell doesn't affect all protection spells, a great deal are completely removed.
