Full Version: Special characters and batclient

I just found out that I can't open some of my chests with batclient because they have symbolic locks with characters batclient doesn't understand. Special characters are also used on some spellwords, party names, ship names etc, so it would be nice to see them with batclient. The mud itself supports them, so why not the client?

Hi there,

unfortunately everything is not as black as white as that. There's, for instance, an ancient bug vs. outputting the ~ character on JRE (java) based applications and an European keyset which hasn't been responded to, since 2002 or so..

Meanwhile, this kind of a feature is "low on queue" on our list as there are several other more "severe showstoppers" (if one would call them such) to be dealt with, aswell. But I do understand the anticipation and expectations for the Client. We will try to take a look at some point if this can be solved faster than we think as of now.

Regards,
Amarth
