Full Version: triggers not saving?

Hi guys

Back to bat after about 7 years off. Used to play on Windows with Zmud and an extensive trigger library, but now on Mac OSX with the new client.

So I'm setting up some triggers using the in-game command line interface, for example

/trig trigname 'heals you a bit' say thanks

Stupid example, but you get it. So my issue is that these triggers work, but after closing the client and going in again, they are gone.

I believe that these simple triggers are supposed to be written to a triggers.xml file? If this is the case, I have searched for it and it's not there. So could that be the issue?

Any help would be appreciated. On a laggy connection I am really struggling without some basic battle trigs.

Cheers

This at least works on my Windows XP setup, triggers save nicely. It seems that the Macintosh version is "somewhat" (ok, very) bug riddled at the moment. As stated in the OSX related bugs thread, the developing team is short of Macs (no one has one)...I guess we'll just have to rectify this, but we're "looking into this" as much as we can atm.

One way to get things to work for now would be to have the triggers created by a script. Each time you open the client, the triggers would be recreated. The scripting help is good, and the examples on bat.org can usually be modified to fit any circumstance.

At least my trigger(s) made with /hilite save. Do you quit from the program by pressing ESC, or do you just close the window from X, or even by apple-Q?

I assume that the "safest" way which will also most probably save settings is to exit is by pressing ESC.

But as Rigger said, you should really make those triggers to a file.
