I managed to login briefly a few days ago, long enough to read the starter help. I had to re-create my character from inside the client for it to work properly. Now when i go to login, it cant connect to the server, even though the games site tells me there are 140 people playing.

I am wondering what I would need to do to make it connect? This is pretty much my first go at a game like this, although I do play a lot of ASCII roguelikes.

You could "debug" this by trying plain telnet first to see if the problem is in the client or elsewhere.

So, open a telnet connection to bat.org 23 and see if that goes through.

In windows do Start -> Run... -> telnet bat.org 23 -> Ok

If the client has updated itself after your last login, it might changed thus you might need to give new green light for the firewall about it.
