Hello, I'm trying to install the official Bat Mud client on my system Ubuntu 9.10. But I have no idea how to open that file Batclient.jnlp

thinking about a comeback.

You need sun java 1.6 to run batclient. Use javaws to run it.

Here's an old guide for Debian, it's probably valid for Ubuntu too.

In Ubuntu 9.10 you can use the package manager to install sun java
http://www.ubuntugeek.com/install-java-run...-10-karmic.html

If you upgrade to Ubuntu 10 you need to add the sun java package to the manager first
