To name some:
- not all combat output goes to the battle window. There's stuff like skills/spells that still get displayed on generic
- an option for not suppressing output from generic to specific windows will most likely arrive later, ie. you could have "all output" in generic if you wish to
- some full screen games bug with the client, when alt-tabbing back to the client you bring with you some graphics from the other game.. known issue, already once fixed but re-emerged
- one numpad movement command (was it 7?) is wrong, you can fix this yourself too
- some people like esc to not to exit game, you can fix this for your own preference by settings -> keybindings
- there's some MXP bug (again) in the client, displaying some long burst of characters with the "map" command in certain outworld locations
- the arrow-up key could follow command history if command line was written "ra" then it would find commands with ra in the history instead of just going through the history from latest to oldest
- sometimes the map window jumps "up" with one line so that the Loc: line goes under the map icon in the middle of the map window
- the linux client transparencies bug badly, this most likely has something to do with java's odd transparency libraries for linuxes, it makes the client look rather bad on linux (thus experimental), turning transparencies off might help a bit
- some older macintoshes require patching to get JRE 1.5 installed, well this is not exatly a client problem but a problem for some mac owners that can't patch (pirates, heh, huh?) their system, works on OSX though!
- the EULA is a bitch, we know that. Gore keeps pestering me about it, however, it protects Bat and all other MMOG's have similar (if not exactly same) EULA's in use, hey you know it doesn't necessarily totally bind you in countries that have "sensible" legislation
- you can accidentally lose the "bar" with Network, Settings and Help -buttons if you alt-tab a lot in Windows, it gets placed under the windows bar when say, writing on this board on firefox. This isn't a bug though...just something worth knowing
A great deal of features are being implemented in the future. I'll be reading this board and Gore'll certainly hang around too. Keep the discussions sensible and your mind sharp for any new suggestions that we might not have thought about yet.
The next large update on the client will be the regexp.. ie. triggers and scripting. Hopefully an easy-to-use compatible system that will help a lot of people.
Keep in mind though, that this is client is also for new players. We aimed Phase 1 to have stuff so that the client can be used to play, not necessarily to please the hardcore player's appetite..but if all goes well, we won't forget you either! :D
