about screen geometry manager:

when using a large resolution and then changing to smaller resolution you loose contol of windows that go over the area where the screen used to be from the top.

ie. i had 1400x1050 reso, ran fullscreen client then changed to 1280x720 resolution and now i'm unable to move my general windows and cannot see my map window at all.

anyone bump into this one yet ?

reproducable: easy to reproduce.
seriousnes: major error

edit: Can someone rename this thread to "Pahvis errors" i would not prefer to use email for error reporting since i've got only 1 working addy.

checked the desktop.xml found the following:

edit: Extract from desktop.xml

CODE

<ChannelWindow width="804" height="1171" x="44" y="-253" name="null" alpha="true" alphaValue="230" commandline="true" border="false">
    <ChannelPanel name="Generic" font-name="Courier New" font-italic="false" font-bold="false" scrollbar="true" font-size="12" text-red="195" text-green="195" text-blue="195">
      <Channel name="generic" />
      <Channel name="tell" />
    </ChannelPanel>

so it seems that there is a real bug in the resize functionality.
Pahvi
News functionality:

The pop-upping news window is bit unneccesary at the moment since reading the news steals control from the game. I seem to be unable to find a way to disable this feature and add the news to the generic window. Perhaps adding the channel news to the generic ? gotta try when i get the problem mentioned above with the resize working again.

How-ever if the news window would interface through the web news system it could be run in another window as a background process and therefore would not block access to the game when running.

The windows resize is definitely a "bug". Then again..well, while important not 1st priority at the moment. I'll include it in the to-do.

The news-window is a bit controversial, the feature in general needs some re-thinking. Feel free to offer suggestions, but I do feel that the window will stay - the operation could differ.
