BatMUD Forums > Guilds.nun > Saint restoration penalties for easy missions

Greetings!

Today I want to whine about the saint restoration missions. As you awfully
well know, they are sometimes trivially easy and sometimes just frustrating -
but that is expected and all fine & dandy. The problem is that they tend to be
frustrating for wrong reasons. I find the penalty of saint restoration failure
unfair.

The saint restoration missions are one of those aspects I enjoy most in
playing a nun. I know, I may be a little more a role player than your next
party member as I am not that interested in experience points, equipment or
money. I love easy-going adventure in good company. Gaining power is rather
insignifigant to me.

At its best a newbie saint restoration mission means gathering a party with
your local newbie cyclops, planning for an hour and fighting for numerable
hours more for heartbeating victory or just as memorable defeat.

However, for what I have heard, picking up lower strength saint restoration
missions does not make any sense - as they are totally random anyway and the
gain from lesser saint is very little.
"Pick always a strong spirit and fail often, for it might be easy some day and
the pay will be greater then."

How about making those "easy" restoration quest penalties little less severe?
36h (or whatever) of waiting feels a little harsh. Restoring those faint
saints is just too tedious, when you, any of your friends and your 10 year
BatMUD logs do not recognize some room or some exotic 20k monster description.
How about making it just a little bit easier to try again... like 5 hours
later? :)
