Open the Thieves guild. Let it be like old player killer option where you may
of your own choice opt to sign up for the interaction of thieves whether or
not you are currently in a happy place to join the guild. Meaning, you may
ONLY sign up once and then you will always be vulnerable and/or able to join
the guild. Only a rebirth can wipe it. May require a bit more deliberation
of thought for eternal players...but at that point they are the epitomy of
'deliberate'.

yes bring "back" the thieves, I started playing this after conv so never had
the change to experience that! bring it on, now!!! been waiting for it like 10
years.

There was some previous plans for the thieves guild... where did it drop to?

There's a couple rough ideas started at some point or another to revive
the thieves guild and i think there's definitely room for it to replace
the Civ-fighter spot in the civ background.. but only in a non pvp fashion.
Civ-fighter comes off more as a practical -anything goes- type class
which sounds more in keeping with a rogue type. Sabres sound more like
the literal civilized fighting guild already.

In my old rpg days,thieves ended up being too contentious for good game
playing.. so we ended up having a more scout-type thief character.. I
think it'd be interesting to have a class that could steal from npc
merchants and have a notoriety scale which has an effect on how all
guards see you. Npc Thieving could take into consideration the mob size
so there's no risk of running off with big eq mobs precious gear without
the requisite amount of effort.

At any rate, I think as is stated, the only way a pvp thief guild could
work would be in the opt-in fashion that was already mentioned...

who told you we don't have Thieves guild?
