Almost 4 years ago, the nightlife+ society pages were re-written and
moved under bat.org. This was made possible by a community effort, and
as a result, the pages have been accesible and virtually bug-free ever
since.
This success made me think! What if ReincSim and BatWiki were also
hosted under bat.org? Maybe some map sites too? These sites are valuable
resources to the community and they must be protected.
The reason why I haven't pushed ReincSim towards bat.org, is that the
quality of the code is low. It works, but it embarrases me. It was never
meant to be public and it was never actually meant to be a "ReincSim".
My dream: a community effort to re-code ReincSim with best software
practices and tools. A high-quality piece of open-source software that
you can show to the world. A community project divided into manageable
parts and coordinated by a "stable genius".
Of course, the reality is that people have lives and shit never gets done.
But let us try? Who is interested?
