Our dearest muddlings,

as previously announced, we will be celebrating BatMUD's 31st anniversary
by organizing a virtual event. The plan is to stream the event on Twitch
(https://twitch.tv/batmudofficial) on Sat April 17th from 8 pm EET until
around midnight. Should the plan change (for example, due to covid-19
restrictions) we will announce it here in BatMUD.

Now, as nobody wants to just watch us arches babble on for 4 hours, we have
some amazing - and some less amazing - content planned. The main event is
a casted pvp tournament with some unique twists (news display inform 970).
We estimate that signups will open on April 1st. Shortly after you will be
able to try out the arena, followed by the start of competitive qualifiers
and then leading up to the quarterfinals, semifinals and final during the
event stream.

We're also giving _you_ the chance to be a star!
Check out 'tasks 21' and submit us with a BatMUD birthday video. You can
sing, you can read a haiku, you can just share us a brief greeting - the
choice is yours, but the more the merrier (extra props for displaying
something unique to your part of the world). Just keep it tasteful and
in compliance with Twitch's terms of service. We'd appreciate it if you
could send your submission no later than Sun April 11th. Contact Nina
for submissions or questions. And yes, there will be taskpoints and
possibly other awards involved...
