Instead of just increasing the damage output of flat martial arts skill, why
not add a skill (Mastery of Martial Arts) that could add special attacks
periodically that have various effects. This could at least add depth to
martial artists and give some incentive to using the skill as opposed to
weapons. The skill would only be active while unarmed, and each 10% would add
an additional extra technique passively to martial arts.

10% - Basic additional attack (similar to battle cadence).
20% - Passive ?punch? skill, that does damage relative to unarmed damage.
30% - Passive ?kick? skill, that does damage relative to unarmed damage.
40% - Gives yellow unstun effect.
50% - Gives green unstun effect.
60% - Passive ?iron palm? skill, that does damage relative to unarmed damage.
70% - All normal hits in the next round are critical hits.
80% - Next hit stuns the mob (if applicable).
90% - Advanced additional attack (similar to battle cadence).
100% - All unarmed attacks attune to least resisted type.

There are other possible effects I could think of, but this would at least
give some depth to martial arts in general.
