The history of the Mafia - How it all began.
Somewhere in the thirteenth century there lives a nice fellow on Sicily (the
island close to Italy, almost the ball which is kicked by the boot of Italy).
This fellow was really nice. Everybody liked him, his parents were very proud
of him, and nobody would have believed that he would start the largest
criminal association in history. Even he would not have believed it. He always
was kind to people, and he would have helped newbie instead of killing them.
When he was about the age of 20, he met a real nice girl. She was so beautiful
and nice, that everyone likes her too. Of course, it didn't last long before
they fell in love and decided to marry. In that time, Sicily was dominated by
two forces: The first was, of course, the roman catholic church, and the
second were the French occupiers.
So the marriage took place in the church and everyone was blinded by these two
beautiful people and very happy. It seemed almost like the entire island had
come to the church. After the marriage, the man had to talk to the priest,
probably about money. The bride was so happy, that she needed some time alone.
She wandered a little away from the other guests. Then, she met a French
lieutenant. This lieutenant liked liquor and pretty women very much. The first
was easy, and he had already drunk more than he should. Now he was looking for
the pretty women, and suddenly he saw the prettiest women he had ever seen. Of
course, he was pretty strong, and since the women didn't really like drunk
french people, he took her by force and raped her.
After the rape , he started thinking with his brain again. He realized that
the girl could identify him, so he killed her. Bit it was already too late.
Some of the people found him and saw what he had done. The groom was so angry
when he heard what had happened, that he shouted 'Morte alla Francia' (death
to the French) and he killed the french lieutenant.
The other sicilians kind of liked this spirit, so they decided to follow his
example. They shouted Morte Alla Francia, Italia Alene (Death to all French ,
Italy wants it) (forgive me if my Italian isn't 100% correct, I'm not really
an Italian) (As you see the begin letters form the word MAFIA) and they killed
almost all french people on the Island.
Of course, France did't like this, and sent a few armies to settle things
again. Although the sicilians were not strong enough to beat these armies,
they fled to the mountains and fought in the resistance, under the name MAFIA.
Of course, after some time, sicily became Italian again, and didn't need the
resistance anymore. But why lose a good organisation? And so the criminal
association became official. But the Italian fellow who started all this,
would not have believed that his anger would have resulted in this, and would
even find a department in a finnish mud, where it would be busy with teaching
newbies the cruelty of mudlife.
