A slight breeze played across the grass, making the plains just south east of
Batcity look like a flowing green ocean. The air was crisp and the only
noticable smell was that of some animal not far off. The occasional tree or
clump of trees showed that fall was well on its way. Skaree seemed to never be
touched by the cold or the heat of seasons. He always wore natural colored
clothing, so that he might fit in with his surroundings. Often he was told how
much he resembled a ranger, but his upbringing in the forests near the foxhunt
master are what made him the way he is. Today he was roaming the wilds just
outside of Batcity, hoping for a snack or maybe even a decent lunch of an orc
cooked over a camp fire. Several times people have made fun of him for not
liking the famed city, but to him it was a mass jungle of stone and man (or
dwarven) made structures. Being a wolfman he never really liked the company of
humans, because all they did was hunt down what he used as food and wasted the
corpses by making fancy looking leggings or some nonsense thing. They usually
also left camp fires burning even when they left or simply had no more need of
it. On occasion he had stumbled upon those fires burning through forests or
plains, that is where he had met a few ent friends who helped him put out the
damned fire. One of those fires was too strong to stop and so all they could
do was hope magic could detain it. After watching some rather helpful elf
mages put a protective field around it, they watched as what appeared to be a
portal of some sort open and lead to a place of such constant burning that it
could only be described as the 9'th plan of hell.
