No, it is not hard to make the blade autosave after every corpse/this/that,
BUT: I believe it was intentionally designed to NOT to save all the time. You
have to remember there being 50 locs online at time, and their blades would be
requesting for the blade controller to 'saveme saveme!' and that would be
consuming precious resources unnecessarily. I will however consider changing
chaotic warp to force save the blade. The blade should however autosave itself
when it is destroyed by the reboot/something, but this might of course bug,
causing you to lose some things.
