Why not change the standard rape prot method so that instead of making eq
worthless/dest/impossible to get, make it so that if anyone in party has
rapeprot all of the eq on that mob is soulbound to the group that kills it.

This solves the wiz problem of preventing eq values from dropping drastically
because people are doing the same mob repeatedly to get item A and selling
items B, C, D, E and F to newbies all the time and devaluing those items.
Also, it gives players like Lammas a way to get their whole "highbie set" in a
reasonable amount of time. As long as you don't care that you can't sell the
eq, you can collect what you need in a reasonable amount of time. It's a
win-win.

very good idea Val made there, sounds like best solution so far.

I agree, Val has a very good point there. Another idea which I was thinking
about is that the percentage of eq going flawed could be based on the
percentage of rapeprotted members in the party, ie. it wouldn't be all or
nothing. Dunno, give comments.

Val's idea would be fine except how does that prevent the "highbie rapist"
group from simply inviting the person they're selling the eq to before
the mob dies. Person still has the wanted eq, named to them.

IMHO, you cannot tune a game to be challenging for everyone when a
portion of the playerbase has high-effect, ungettable bonus that the
other portion of the playerbase does not have (boons). It's simply not
a problem that's going to get fixed by altering a key feature here
or there. The source of the problem will remain forever, since stats
are really important to so many skills/spells functioning at high
success rate / fast acting.
