Sadly, for some people, the discussion may make them feel that going through
the process of aging hatchlings really doesn't have any benefit - after all,
should you have two drake parents whom you've ridden for awhile to build up
resists to produce hatchlings with better resists essentially means that you
already have a back-up mount should one drake happen to be lost etc. It may
mean that some people just don't bother with them, since they may not see
'value' in them.
You made a comparison on squires channel (thank you Lyriikka for the blog
entry) about storing a set of +10 leggings that somehow create hatchling
leggings, and one wouldn't expect the leggings to be +10, but rather worse.
However, if I was treating those leggings with elixirs, spells etc, then
perhaps there's some potential to get back to +10, and perhaps even beyond.

If we think of the hatchlings as animals rather than objects, then there could
perhaps be an opportunity for the 'youth' of the hatchling to influence its
behaviour as it ages. If I aged a hatchling simply by unstabling it, letting
it idle in stableroom, then restabling before boot, then I would expect that
it wouldn't live up to the standards of its parents. Heck, treating a
hatchling that way could even cause 'bad things' to happen when around other
people since it hasn't been socialized to be around other people/mounts.

If however, the beastmaster takes the time to work with the hatchling through
the aging process, then it's conceivable that there could be some benefits. A
couple of ideas
- Feeding mounts masterchef food may result if the mount being bigger/stronger
than its parents. Just look at the size of teenagers these days relative to
their parents - hormones in the food etc. Overfeeding the mount will make it
fat (less eps etc)
- Leading the drake (or if you're small enough, riding it) around while it's
growing (in addition to building resists) and subjecting the hatchling to a
variety of bmaster skills could result in the hatchling not needing additional
'encouragement' when it's older (ie, if the mount has experienced a fair
amount of 'ride underground', 'ride through pain', 'ride through frost', or
'ride through flame' when it's young, then perhaps those skills wouldn't be
needed to be performed on the aged hatchling, since it's grown up with them

- Similarly, it might even be possible for bmasters to not have to wield a
poker/whip in a hand to do the above skills, or perhaps even guided strike /
feral attack for the hatchling, as they've been essentially 'raised' by the
bmaster and voice commands are sufficient. Again, should a bmaster simply
just let the hatchling idle in stableroom, then this couldn't happen

Just my $0.02
