Update on the BatMUD 25th anniversary gala
==========================================

As the BatMUD 25th anniversary gala is getting ever closer and we look
forward to celebrating with you soon, we at this time want to inform you
of some practicalities.


Location
========
The gala takes place at Ravintola Kaivohuone, located in the scenic
Kaivopuisto in Helsinki (http://g.co/maps/z5anh).


Timings
=======
The gala starts at 8pm, though depending on weather and status of the
arrangements we may opt to open the doors slightly earlier. Last call
is around 2:30 am and we expect to have the place vacated by 3 am.


Signups
=======
Only people who have signed up for the gala (via Tigger, located in the
Arelium church) will be admitted. If you are bringing a spouse, girl/
boyfriend or significant other, make sure you register them as your avec.

Note! The last day for signups is April 4th.


Dresscode
=========
The official dresscode is "semi-formal".
For men this means a suit or dress pants+collared shirt and jacket. Tie is
optional. For women it means a cocktail dress, that little black dress or
even a pantsuit.

Having said that, we recognize that not everybody may have access to a suit
and we will ofcourse not turn anybody away for wearing the "wrong attire" -
not even any pretentious people who overdress!


Accommodation
=============
There are several accommodation options near to the gala venue, and down-
town Helsinki is close by and offers plenty of additional choices. Below
are a few examples, all within walking distance to the gala venue:

Will there be food and drink, or do I need to order a pizza?
============================================================
There will be a buffet and B.A.T. ry will provide every attendee with a few
drinks. In the very likely event that you want to indulge in more than a few
drinks (or you have your mind set on some 30-year single malt) don't leave
your wallet at home.


House rules
===========
While we do not expect any issues, and hope that everybody is attending to
have fun, we have given instructions to the security staff at Kaivohuone to
remove anybody who causes a disturbance, acts violently, damages the property
or appears absolutely smashed.

There will be a designated outdoor smoking area available (but stick to
stuff that is legal in Finland!).
