DONATIONS (ARE NOW OPEN)

As of Today, BatMUD is yet once again accepting donations from its players!!

Donations are open to players who have registered themselves as support
members of the B.A.T. ry (help register).

As you know, B.A.T. ry is the legal entity which upkeeps BatMUD (as it
needs to, to act with official authorities and the like.) The organization
owns the copyrights and Trade Marks related to BatMUD and fully intends to
continue keeping BatMUD a "FREE" game without any subscription payments or
other marketing gimmicks (such as advertisements). It is solely run by
your resident Archwizards, it does rigorous bookkeeping on the financial
side, pays its taxes to the government and maintains a non-profit style
of operations.

B.A.T. ry opens donations on a "basis of need". While we are able to run
the game successfully with our remaining assets, we have perceived a need
to complete and continue the work of the projects that have already been
started or are pending a "go". As a sample of this, our client-project,
news about a first release will be published soon. Something "in-game" is
also just about to happen.

Last time donations were opened back in November, 2004. There is no
guarantee of If and When donates will open the next time. We acknowledge,
that a good amount of players have already tossed in a donation of variable
size - you're free to do so again and perfectly as free to not to. While
any amount is appreciated (yes, even the 6 euros an "anonymous player"
sent just for the kicks of it), I urge you to first:

If you're still willing to donate, ask yourself whether you have some
other use for the money, such as putting it into your studies, or perhaps
buying your GF(/BF/wife) that set of lacy underwear she always wanted;
if after all this you're still O.K. to proceed with the donation,
only then go ahead!
