Busy month. I've been keeping busy with writing/drafting papers for school, and films at Love & Anarchy film festivals last week, Infernal Affairs and Last Party, to name two. Infernal Affairs was the first Hong Kong flick I've seen in years, great stuff. Last Party sort of reminded me of Bowling for Columbine, a documentary about the political world of US. Kinda saddening stuff. Thank <insert deity here> it's not winter yet.
Hrm. As so many times on Fridays I ended up drinking at home. The weird thing is that it got boring kinda quickly. First time for everything I guess. Or maybe it was just because I ran out of beer and couldn't get that goddamn vodka bottle open because of the broken cap. And that otherwise yummy Moldavian brandy tasted too much like plastic after chewing pen cap for too long. Ended up watching Star Wars Episode II instead. It ain't great but beats the shit out of Episode 1. Puuh, should've kept drinking, I'd feel much better in the morning with a hangover than with this burning in my stomach caused by ove-rdevouring of popcorn.
Coded my area again, after going through Cyberman's bug/typo-list. Oh yeah, his bugs/typos are being fixed, keep 'em coming. Anyway, scetched some sort of quest to the area, so it's gonna be delayed somewhat. Unless I get lazy and skip the whole quest thing, but maybe not. Another news: Crime and Punishment, excellent book. Raskolnikov is one weird creep. Haven't finished yet, though. Hope I'll have it read before end of this week.
Damn, I never remember to write anything down. I'll try again, since it might be useful later (right now I need to know when I saw Spirited Away, but can't find the exact date anywhere, sniff). Last Friday I had a Buffy-marathon, watched the season 4. Great stuff. I gotta get rich and buy them on DVDs some time. I actually managed to code a bit as well, not that much though. Reading Crime & Punishment has been more interesting. I'll try to get something done today.
Heh, snooping morts who are trying to figure out your quests is good form of entertainment. Hell, it's sort of motivating as well. Well, most of the time, when people have some kind of clue. These guys didn't. Amusing stuff, nevertheless. But still, I think I'll swap the 9-stooges show to a movie now.
Hah. Season 4 of BtVS rocks. Hilarious stuff. Although I gotta stop watching it and do some real stuff. But next weekend it's time for a Buffy-marathon. Oh yeah, another thing which I've meant to say for a while. I'm officially giving in to the über-anti-idler Dino, keep that first (last?) place on the top-iders. Grr. Now I can idle in peace. Oh yeah, and my new workroom in Bat rocks. Drop in some time.
BatMUD's banner at <http://www.mpogd.com> (might take few reloads to get it to show) looks nifty, and it's got the right attitude. Wonder if we'll get another surge of newbies buzzing about. I'd welcome that.
Today I got two separate invitations to go visit UK. I guess I really should, then. New year's party at the Star doesn't sound bad at all, and I miss Bellringer's. Sheesh, can't wait till tomorrow, I wanna get aquinted with yet another new bottle of cheap red wine and stop worrying about this stupid exam.
Had a brief chat about a history server for the mud with Dino. Sounds like interesting project, I've always felt like a librarian, anyway. Maybe I can get started on it during the weekend, after the last exam of the summer. The goddamn software project is almost through as well, finally. Only two more weeks.
Sheesh, it's been busy at the university. It's goddamn annoying to stare at other people's undocumented code and figure out how it's supposed to work. Except when you actually get it, and manage to fix it. Few more weeks, then the project is done, though. Finally. Maybe then I can even finish my area. Now I just hope I get home to watch some episodes of BtVS. Yay.
Heh, that was fun. Playing settlers in the net is fun, not as fun as playing the table game, but still entertaning. Especially when I win. The game I talk about is here <http://settlers.cs.northwestern.edu/server2/index.html>.
Mrr, this sucks. I'm trying to get a settlers game. A-ha, just as I started to whine on a blog it got started. Gotta try this again.
Let's see. It's the last week of coding on my university project that has lasted for the whole summer. Then two more weeks of wrapping things up. After that I've got whole one week of vacation, can't wait. Maybe I can continue with the area then, it's been on hold again from July. Off to RL now, sigh.
Should I blog or not? OTOH I already have "diary" on the web page which tells that I'm alive (more or less), but yeah, it's quite vague. Oh well, I've meant to start (actually continue) a diary of somekind for a while now, so might as well start. Let's see if this becomes a habit or not.
