Yay. At last I got the last mastery point for the first of my special monk skills, the Falcon talon strike (read: falcon punch). Now I can start thinking about reincing into some other guild. Well, not now, maybe the next time. Off to collect some stones.
The valar enchanter gave me a quest to 'find frex frox' this time. No information at all available on the bat.org quest page, and no info in the quest rooms in-game, either. The only info I found with the search term "find frex frox" (with the quotes) on Google, which pointed me towards the http://tnsp.org/maps/quests.php page. Looks like this is an area quest in Oystria. Maybe I'll go there some other time... Now I've got to go mow the lawn. --turms
Yeah. Finally got the Troglodyte rod quest solved. Couldn't have done it without Deitrus' help, though. The healing I got was essential :) Many thanks. -- turms P.S. The quest isn't really worth it. only 2 training points and 2,7k gold as a reward. :(
Oh right... I had a read through my blog... The second entry mentions me trying to solve area quests: Mirror Mine, Trogolodyte Rod, and Alchemist's Dilemma. The Dilemma I've solved some time ago, but the others I have not. But I'm hoping to maybe being able to solve the Troglodyte quest the next time I play (maybe even tomorrow!) soon after reboot. Today I found the renegade troglodyte party for the first time and was even able to beat them. 5 or 6 5-8k aggressive monsters in one room took quite a while to kill, though. But I will get them! (b)Logging off now. Bye!
The dice for the ppl who sacrificed themselves for Huppu's Asmodeus party was tonight. I diced a 'short dull black cloak', which has +3% all resist. It should be very nice when I reincarnate to some other fighter type reinc, but for this reinc I will keep using my +'iron palm' cloak. Other than that, nothing much has happened since the last entry. Total worth is about 22M. I hate that I have forgotten to mark my worth in these entries for a long time now. :( See you next time.
Hmph. It seems this nullium bracelet makes me need better infravision. Running in the outworld is a pain now.. I'll have to look for some solutions for this. But for now.. over and out.
Time: 2 hours 6 minutes 25 seconds Experience gained: 262610 Experience lost: 203075 Still 400k more exp needed for a level. PUUUUUUUH
Made some exp with my new friend Emex. A bit more than 700k exp in summary. Nice one.
Ok. Long time no play. Did a few exps this time, about 250k. I guess that's not much, but I think it's enough for this session. Will see you later again.. Bye
Was thinking of maybe doing the next level quest, but realised I might not make it even if I had a tarmalen to raise and heal me when I fall. The last monsie did do away with most of my hit points in a round after all. I'll need to train some more first - mainly defensives, but I guess I should be able to deal some damage also, if I want to succeed. Out to collect stones.
Next up: Arena fighting. It's the lvl quest for 45. I'm determined to get it done, even if the mobster for it looks quite big. Only I need to find a key to get to it, I think. Or defeat a syntax, maybe (are there more verbs for levers besides push, pull, move, force?). I hope it's not the syntax, but I'm afraid it might be. Oh well. I guess I'll have to do some skill training before getting to the fight anyway... But now it's time for me to go. -- Turms
At last solved the Holy Grail quest. It was quite easy now that I had help from Cromel and Nosunrise. Only hadn't packed low coins for the maze, so that was a bit of running blind, although Nosunrise was able to point us in the right direction after a bit. Also didn't remember the last question the bridge guard posed - I only could remember that it wasn't the same as in the movie (favourite colour) - but a bit of waiting and he asked the question. The rest was easy, only had to run around a bit in the end looking for Arthur. I think I had missed the part at first (at Sir Bedimere), and thought I'd have to wait for him to reset. Another run about the area got me to him, though. Lots of thanks to Cromel and Nosunrise for this. -- Turms
Tried the Holy Grail again. Died in the hands of the Black Beast. I guess it might be a bit too much for me to solo. How can I then expect to beat the Frenchmen?? Maybe I can bring some help the next time. Over and out.
...and ended. Could not be solved this time around. Monsters and items missing.
The Quest for the most Holy Grail... ...begins.
Uh oh. Long time no see, and even this time writing this blog entry is the only thing I will do. I haven't even moved one room. Maybe I'll see you next time, if I'm not as busy IRL, as I am now.
Uh oh. Long time no see. Been away working early hours and too tired to play (at least anything else besides Fallout3). Going to get tired of Fallout in about a week, I guess, maybe earlier. So Maybe I'll see you again next weekend. Who knows. Logging off now... Bye... Why are you still reading this? I already logged off. Didn't you notice? Go away and leave me in peace for the time being. Please. Thank you. Now, stop reading already. It's annoying. Can't take this anymore. Disconnecting the internets in 5, 4, 3, 1, 3, 7, 0, now.
Ok, this was a nice gaming session. 117 new rooms explored (although I got 151 in an explore party yesterday), 815k exp gained (115k lost, though). And I passed 10 million exp worth. I've been dumping exp into skills for quite a while now, at least two million+ at this level I imagine, because I want to solve the Holy Grail quest. I might be able to do that tomorrow after reboot, since I found out some stuff today about it. That my info, the one from a certain library, is outdated and doesn't work. Could be that I need to gather a party for slaying some monsters for the quest. Hopefully I can do that if needed. Will see about it tomorrow. Still haven't figured out the Alchemist's dilemma, or the mirror mine, not that I have spent much time on either of them. Mainly I've just killed the mobs at the Hobbit Farmhouse, not much else. Usually they're quite good exp. Ok, see you next time. Turms
Level 41 requires 207739 experience points. You have 16600 experience points. You still need 191139 experience points. EET time is Tue Aug 11 17:34:04 2009 Will try and advance today.
Whee. Ggr just held a guessing competition. The question was how many clicks the Google ads on his Bat map site has got in two years. The price was anipium worth one million gold if you hit +/-1, otherwise the closest guess wins 500k in anipium. My guess of 105 clicks was the closest one, the correct number being 126. Many thanks to Ggr. :)
Nice. I had 225k exp on when I logged on. I made them the last time I played, but I think I was at some area I had not visited previously and it was a good one. No idea where that was, though. I wish I had blogged.
Alright. I just realised something. I'm not making any money. I need to go back to hunting for Dr. Livingstone and gather some gold that way. It's been nice getting more exp, but I think I will need the gold, too. I think you could see the hunting as an occupation, and the exploring and exping is what you do on your own time. Well, for me it seems like that. For now. The ferry arrived at Laenor, getting off.
I got frustrated with not getting very far with the quests on Lucentium, namely Alchemist's and Mirror Mine. The MM seems really to be an item hunt. You could probably get quite a lot of the items from shops, but I didn't want to run so far... Alchemist's.. well, I just couldn't come up with a use for some items - I enjoyed killing the mobs in the area more than solving the quest :) Now I moved my ass to Deso. I think I will set the monk trainer as my startloc for a while, and look around the continent. But not today.
Note to self: Don't attack anything or use skills while invisible. Tried exploring the Paladin Stronghold a bit more. For the quest. There seems to be a paladin inside, named Eggmund, who won't fight the undead that come stand next to him. Also some sad little imp. Neither of these wanted to answer my questions about anything. Seems frustrating. Too bad I went and lost the invisibility before reading through all the room descriptions. Well, maybe next time. Off to get some pebbles
Experience gained: 464239 Experience lost: 20020 Experience spent: 459970 Gold difference: +5966.00 New areas explored: 4 So, pretty much exp from killing monsies. And mainly without a party, although I partied with some merchant for a while, so he could gather materials (flesh, leather, fur) off the corpses. Was fun. I also advanced one level in the Monk guild, thus achieving level 20 in the guild. I can still train Iron palm only up to 13%, so I need quite a lot levels more. And exp, since this level cost me 170k+ exp. But I think I will train the defensive skills before advancing, and offensive ones like Enhance criticals, too! That way I can get some actual benefit of getting a bigger offensive when I can start to use it - it wouldn't be very nice if I could still only fight these 5k monsies etc small stuff and half kill them in one go when the skill hits. More defence = more time to hit with a slower skill. :) What else? Can't think of much. Gotta go. See you later.
Ok. I took another look at the Alchemist's dilemma today. Or rather, I tried to, but failed because of an overcast sky. As long as I've known about it maybe affecting, the sky has been cloudy. I also tried the Mirror Mine again, went and trained 'hunting' to as high as I could reasonably get it with not too much exping. It's at 68% now, and hunting for squirrels (like 30 of them - lost count) took quite a while. Then I think the 'gnome tinkerer' is the next one to need help. Going to have to go back there another time. Now the ferry arrived at Laenor, so I'll have to run along...
Experience gained: 960155 Experience lost: 0 Experience spent: 949989 Gold difference: -277855.00 New areas explored: 212 Got a chest too, a 6-slotter. Might get some smaller ones to accompany it at some point, or might not. Will see... Off to hunt for some pebbles.
Ok, this was an action packed session. Or has been so far... At first I did some minor soloing, mainly testing out if these "ruby claws" that I got for free from Dreadlord are better than the "silvery amazon gloves" I had previously. He said they would change my martial-arts-damage into monster-damage. I don't know if that is the case, since I think I'm still seeing the same kinds of melee messages. Hmm... Now that I think about it, maybe the "testing" part was mainly just hoping for better damage and not paying any attention to the actual effect. Will do this with more care the next time. If I remember to. I also bought an appartment in "X", Nosunrise's player city. Now I have more space in my MUD appartment than I have IRL. I think that must be the most depressing thing in a while. On the other hand, what can you expect from RL student appartments? Definitely not space :) So I'm looking for a chest to store my (extra?) equipment now. I don't feel like carrying this other pair of gloves (or claws?) around on my person is a very good idea. But, of course, after getting an apparment, I am a bit strapped for gold. So I don't think I can go for the chest size I would like to have. Also, I'm still looking for a "silvery amazon breastplate", although it looks to be a bit on the heavy side. Maybe I should just try and go for the 5% more trained martial arts instead? Which brings me to the topic of experience points. I got some of those today, partying with Angu. My total worth went up by almost 25% in this session, from roughly 4 million to 4.9 million. Angu suggested I should take 5 levels of Tarmalen, to get access to better healing abilities and thus increased exp rates. That I did and now I have studied 'cure light wounds' to 100% (with bonuses). I hope this will get my rates up. At least it will help me survive better and be less hindrance in parties, since I can do a bit of my own healing. Also, I need to solve a few more quests now. Too bad I can't really solve the ones for levels 35 thru 39 anymore, so I will have to go for the more difficult ones. I really want those training points, since my strength is quite a bit lower than my dexterity or constitution. I need to pump the next five levels' training into strength, I think. That's all for now. I think I'll go see if there's any Livingstone-hunting to be done. Need those gold coins - badly.
Oh... Forgot to mention, that the sewers do not give any explore experience. I wish they did.
Can't get sleep, so I'll write something in here... I tried exploring the sewers below Arelium tonight, but got lost. I know about the book in the library, that explains how to do this, but as I didn't know how complex the maze is, didn't think I would need the advice that much. (I have once read it though, quite a while before I even knew where the entrance to the sewers was.) Well, now I know better. It seems to be impossible to get summoned out of here, even. Too bad. Well, I think I will just go LD, and be out of here tomorrow. If I decide to play tomorrow. As good as the predictability of having a reboot every day at 12:00 EET is, I would prefer the reboots to last for either a bit longer or a shorter time, thus making the reboot time "travel". It would be reasonable, as the reboot is always at a bad time for someone. Making it travel would also mean making it not happen at a time, that is unsuitable for always the same people. Well, that's it. See you later.
Whee, at last: Dr. Livingstone, the famous zoologist and explorer hp: 458 (544) [+21] sp: 435 (435) [] ep: 231 (265) cash: 4536 [] exp: 7033 [] Livingstone takes the corpse from you. Livingstone exclaims 'Just what I was looking for. You are showing talent, young hunter!' Livingstone pays you your reward, 3551 gold coins. You gain 8 hunt points, your total in this reinc is 255 points. Congratulations! You have just completed Master hunter! You receive 42732 gold as a reward for completing the quest. hp: 458 (544) [] sp: 435 (435) [] ep: 231 (265) cash: 50819 [+46283] exp: 7033 [] Quite a nice reward for a newbie like myself. This quest is highly recommended. --> Off to look for more pebbles.
I've been doing some hunting for Dr. Livingstone. He seems to pay good money for some corpses, but a lot of the time the beasts he wants to acquire for his collection are big ones, that I can't even think of killing. And very often at least one of the beasts on his list of three is a blue whale. I hate everything aquatic. I hate getting my soft, silky fur wet :( At the moment I'm waiting for some play to start at Shadowkeep Amphitheatre. Now it begins, bye.
Ok... What to write? Well, I tried doing party exp with Mongooze, which went pretty well, if you don't count dying quite a few times on the Chessboard. The Small Meadow area seemed quite nice. What else? Well, I advanced in the Architects quest a bit, but had to stop solving it for a while, because I had other things to do. But at least it's clearing up piece by piece. I wonder if I need to sit tight in some rooms and wait for the monsters to talk there, to get some keywords I could ask them about. Will see about that. I guess that's it for now. Gotta go gather some more white pebbles.
Tried solving a few quests again - with little luck. "The lost troglodyte rod" looks as if it might not have been updated after the world has changed, since the info says something about troglodytes turned bandits on a nearby road. Well, there are _no_ roads nearby. Also the village turned out to be only a few rooms, so I didn't spend much time there. The "Mirror mine" area is nearby there, and I even found a monster to help there. The problem turned out to be of another type there. Looks like item hunting, but I don't quite know how far I'm supposed to go hunting them. I thought at first, that one of the items could be a corpse, but it seems those spoil in a matter of seconds in your inventory, so I must have been mistaken. The "Alchemist's dilemma" was the one I had more hopes for, since I knew one monster in the area that I was going to kill to see if he had anything of worth in the quest. Well, I died once trying to kill the monster, and when I finally succeeded... I don't think it was any help. So I will need to go back to each of these after getting new ideas. And think of something else to solve in the meantime. The one good thing about the whole running-around-the-world, was the explore exp, which amounted to a bit less than 200k. And I managed not to die with that on. Yay. Off to gather more of those pebbles...
First note. The time is Sun Jul 05 23:51:47 2009. I guess I'll paste my finger info here first, to get some kind of a start.. Turms is a level 32 mortal of the Catfolk race. He was created Fri Jun 26 08:45:04 2009 and he is 3d, 2h, 30min and 54s old. Well, that's the more important part, anyways. So I'm a Catfolk monk (good religious) - been that for the whole of the time that I've played this game. Anything else? Umm.. Well, I did buy my first pieces of EQ just now. Three pieces of "silvery amazon equipment", which have +martial arts. I was lucky to buy all three pieces for half the price that someone else asked for a single piece. Thanks to.. the seller - I don't know if the person minds if I put the name here, but just in case, I won't. I had previously got a piece of EQ in a small party of one more experienced player and 2 newbies (me included), where I was basically the useless third wheel - the other newbie being Tarmalen and thus not so useless. Thanks to those people, too. What will become of this character is still left to be seen. I hope I will remember to make a note in this log every now and then. Off to collect white pebbles now...
