Expect one (1) or more extra reboots on Monday, 12th of November 2007 (effectively, tomorrow). We're implementing some changes with require these. No reimbursement is made for those who ignore this notice.
We have isolated one major lag-creator from the System and are now taking steps in order to remove this (the lag you see happening quite often 15 minutes past an hour change).
With a solid week of demanding that arches fix everything he couldn't do in a single try (and, therefore, must be a bug!) Freld takes a strong second in the "dumbasses most likely to get removed" contest. His prize for his deliberate lack of game knowledge and etiquette is a month-long ban. Continued progress down this road will lead him to first place and a removal.
Idling in public is silly, but not illegal. Idling next to pigeons while you have a locblade trigger turned on is illegal. Accidentally killing a friend of an Archwiz only make the crime easier to detect. When Darkki wakes up, tell him his new 1-corpse mowgles locblade is a present from Campcon 2007.
BatMUD (B.A.T. ry) has filed a report of the offence to the National Bureau of Investigation's computer crimes special unit regarding the Password Incident.
You know how, when you give a kid a new toy, and they play with it and play with it and play with it until it breaks? Well, Ramjett was playing with Chrysalis and Bastage, the multiplayers, and now they're broken.
To end the stupid rumours - yes, a few players have gotten their characters restored lately. Whether you agree with it or not, I felt that it will be appropriate to do it to everyone who's been asking for one instead of doing it on a "personal favor" basis. As a consequence, we disabled "suicide" command. That should minimize the amount of drunken stubborn accidents. Note, that if you will go on a drunken rampage instead, you'll still be subject to banishment or something like that. If you're removed as a punishment, it's very unlikely you'll get a restore ever again. Thanks for your attention, have a nice day.
The Data Center relocation has been completed Successfully. It will still take some time for the DNS records to start pointing towards to our IP-addresses in the New location. Reconnecting by then will most likely show you a reduction in latency & provide a better network route to the MUD. (try "nslookup bat.org" locally, if it shows an IP of 83.145.249.*)
