You feel like you just got slightly better in quick chant.
Quick chant | 100 |

From 60 at reincs start. Human's don't get much exciting, but their natural
learning ability certainly rocks hard. It will be a shame to reinc out.

There are 105867 dead bees lying on the bottom of the beehive.
You clean your beehive by removing 30889 dead bees.

Seems like I should be able to compost that heap of bees into something
merchant material-ish.

Finished the long and exhausting process of potion research today.
197 potions now, sadly alot of them are just filler (junk nobody would
ever use). Pretty lame ending to a month's worth of testing too, not a bit
of fireworks or fanfare when last potion was found. Not even a personal
notification that all potions were found. I find that very pathetic on
the part of the coders, considering how much damn effort it is to get
through them all. Far more than any quest or set of quests I've done.

Now to sort out a price list.

You are prepared to do the skill.
Whoops, you fumble your attempt.

A mountain of mowgles coins.
It seems to contain about 50000000 coins.
It looks EXTREMELY heavy.

You manage to exchange the mowgles to 9999999 zinc.
You manage to exchange the zinc to 4999999 tin.
You manage to exchange the tin to 2499999 copper.
You manage to exchange the copper to 1249999 bronze.
You manage to exchange the bronze to 833332 silver.
You manage to exchange the silver to 499999 gold.
You take one gold coin from a gargantuan bamboo money vault (open).
You drop 1 gold coin.
You manage to exchange the gold to 50000 platinum.
You manage to exchange the platinum to 9990 anipium.

Oh the joys of merchanting. At least that one was able to be rectified. More
than can be said for most merchant fumbles.

You have an uneasy feeling after eating a magical fortune cookie...

Suddenly you are engulfed in a blue, shimmering field of magic, which
dissipates after few seconds in a blink of bright light.

Another fortune cookie magically appears from thin air!

I got double cookied. I guess that means I'm double fortunate ^^

[21:12]:Guardian <bard>: Loremaster Glaurung approves Seed's guild quest
'performance'!

Spent the last few weeks twiddling all sorts of stuff. Finished the
merchant belt Tier 1 & 2, got as far as I could into potion research
without discovering potions and taking the exp on, did some shipquests,
did some kbh'ing, built a bunch of vaults, and so on.

After several dozen tells over a few weeks span finally found
Glaurung online & he setup a time for me to do bard performance. Seems
he is the only Loremaster+ in bards that actually responds to requests
for performance/plays, which is more than a little stupid. Anyways,
big thanks to him I could finally take my last 6 bard levels and
stop walking around a boatload of exp on. Now I can get into finishing
potion research finally and twiddle some of the more death prone
shipquests.

Oh, and finally have a working ep song. Venturers way working 1 of
3 casts, and giving 19 eps is just a "bit" depressing. Hurray
for that.

Ruuben [merchant]: All hail Seed!!! He has truly earned the rank of Master
Merchant, and built for himself an incredibly powerful
                   toolbelt!

I guess if you wanna get recruited for alot of eq parties, reinc and
inflate madly so you only have very basics, and everything else to 50 or
not at all. You'll still probably lose all the important dices, but seems
to be the way to get recruited to mad amount of eq parties.

Melcross draws a pentagram to the floor with blood and places the

start to twitch and begin to draw together.

The items touch together all as one and with a mighty thunderclap
they meld into a strangely glowing axe. Grinning devilishly
Melcross picks up the axe and hands it to you.

I noticed recently I'd become Tarmalen leader. Noticed, hah.. I found out
after a friend pointed out it shows that in 'finger seed'. Anyways.. comes
with a nice command to use every so often, good little lifesaver or I
suppose slight rate-increaser for a party. At any rate, thought it was
pretty much a whole lot cooler that you could get leadership in this
guild by being quite active for a couple weeks. I was a tiger for, well,
since I started playing until about a week ago. Quite active one too, and
never saw a thing from that guild in regards to leader bonus or even
rep bonus. Then again, I think I completed a total of 1 mission since
targets were always highbie level 100's and I was a newbie drow tiger.

Quite enjoying healer guilds at the moment. Druid's starting to get good
too.

Did the dreamworld explore in Taiga today for couple friends, some small
eq mobs there, then killed half a dozen goldberry's and 3 or 4
old man willow's while killing Tom, since they decided to repop
about every 15 minutes. Still fun, all in all. Diced some
reindeer headgear. Fun day.

Quite a bit accomplished today, despite a setback by mud crash. Got a couple
more special explores, over 64% explore now, and bunch of little eq/exp.
Did get to explore Osen (Dojo) although crash rolled that back unfortunately.
Still good I suppose, can always do that again later. Plus, nice bonus at
the end of the day. My pick from loot pile...

You drop a small wooden box (closed).
You try to force the box with your battleaxe.
You force hard and manage to bust the box open!

Box contains:
Ancient book of knowledge (friendly)
a pile of tin coins

Can't complain about that.

Reinced today. First time for that, not too bad either. Cost 700k
experience and now I'm making a tarmalen druid. Knocked out half
a dozen easy quests I missed the first time around too, thanks
to Angu and Spica for the help. Got 48 quests first time around, now
I'm a "Seeker", along with it seems half the mud. Oh well, nice
to have a rank anyways I suppose.
Really wanted to get all the way with that tiger priest
combo, but it wasn't happening unfortunately. Everybody
lookin for those min max builds, and drow tiger mini
priest doesn't count, I s'pose.

Onward (and hopefully upward).

Spent 5 hours in zonni swamps today, getting entropy'd and
dead. Not so much fun there, now I'm 'old'. Got some rooms
though and finished up with a good two hour exp grind.
All in all not a bad day. Don't recommend attempting
Rescue Lady quest with anything less than two good blasters
and a full frontrow of proper tanks. Lotsa blockers, couple
desters, plenty of pain. We got hosed.

Got to do zoo today with a nosunrise party (aka charity). But I'll take it,
something new and interesting, and 81 new explores there. Hit few explores
and one special explore room at Perin's. Bonus for that. Some twiddle to
round out the day. Now I'm going to go get bacon cheese fries from
Checkers, because they are awesome.

Getting back to this game a little bit lately. Have a short recess from
business
and a little more time to goof off. Did some good exp grind with my good
friend,
sometimes seems like the only person I play with on here. Also picked convent
gate for Frenor today, and he gave me a backseat in his party so I could get
some rooms in there. That worked out nicely, chipping away at 70% explore a
little at a time. Also contemplating with some seriousness a reinc, for the
first
time since I started playing here. I'd like to stick it out in this one, but
getting a party is increasingly tough since I'm not booned and don't have
all the fancy top grade gear. Priests is really unfriendly without alot of
levels
in it.

I heard they were getting a revamp though, but then again this being a mud,
that could mean two months or two years.

By the way, for anyone who enjoys Diablo II, Blizzard is purported to be
working on
a content patch (1.13) and supposed to be resetting ladder once that's ready,
which would be sometime in the near future. Ladder resets are always the most
fun.

"Did" the stonehenge lq today. Rather tagged along when couple no-shows
opened up spots with a legion+ party. Cheers, that woulda been a hard
one to lead. Alot of tracking mobs, some specials, some syntax entry
aggros. I wasn't totally useless. I did tank a 250k roc, after my tank
missed the syntax (or idle maybe dunno). Anyways, only tank to survive
that debacle? A lvl 60 drow tiger =) I can be proud of that. Well,
sarmangoth survived too but he wasn't tanking the whole time, and he's
huge so he doesn't count. He's a drow too. Drow power! We both
ended up unconscious, but both survived. Claws took a dread maybe half
a dozen times too, so I dont know where that myth comes from that big
stuff is unclawable at lower levels. It did resist quite a few, but
probably 1 in 3 or 4 worked. So that was somewhat useful. Grendel, the
swamp troll is almost as hard as dread. Nasty reflection special.

Another mob has a drag people with it special, so when it leaves it
takes someone from party with it. That can be a pain.

Altogether not too bad, Nosunrise managed with 4 or 5 players
my size or less, and a few big ones. Definitely could be doable, I
think with a bunch of appropriate class level 60's with more than
just minimum skills trained up.

638072: the black dread

Took level 60 today, hit 60% explore today, and rolled
over to 60 million exp totals today. A hattrick of 60's.
I don't think I'll be able to make another 14 quests
today, to make that 60 also. That would be a stretch.

Backpacking in autumn is among the most extrodinary things I'll
probably ever get to do. It's so nice to get away from it all with some

making a fire that much more rewarding. A fifth and a sleeping bag to
keep warm. What am amazing weekend!

Red Tailed Fox is dead, R.I.P.

10 minutes of chasing that around doing noskill nospell pretend damage, that's
not one I'll be doing again. Would be nice if the fox didn't move every single
round, so at least the possibility at blasting it with something was
there. Was no competitors (or overly aggressive competitors) this time
though, so did get it done eventually. A pittance of platinums for the
effort, mediocre return on investment at best. Oh well, interesting to
know what the 'prize' is, anyways. Woulda rather had a rank, even 'fodder'
rank from minesweeper win was bit sweeter.

2 good boot exp grinds in a row too.. something bad must be coming,

Did the rainbow event..

You can now see the end of the rainbow clearly:
    S
  SSSSS
 HHHHSSS
 HHHHHHS
HHHH*HHSS
 HHHHHHH
 HHHHHHH
  HHHHH
    H

You see a beautiful rainbow arching across the sky. The end of the rainbow
seems to be a bit to the north and quite far to the west from here. Perhaps
you would see better if you move closer?

Because of the low amount of unidle players you receive some additional
experience for your kill.
Suddenly, just before the the leprechaun dies, the rainbow flashes and
disappears into the ground with a loud sucking noise. All that is left is a
thin trail of smoke and a four-leafed clover.
The sky flashes and the RAINBOW disappears!
Leprechaun is dogfood.
Leprechaun is DEAD, R.I.P.

You toss the clover into your mouth and swallow.
You feel favored.

Quite easy, interesting event though. Guess I got a little +luck out of it.

Tried mythical frostblade today, couldn't get it done w/ 5 man party =(
Got to the highlord, and the one before it reset midway through, then decided
it
was going to track fast as well. So that was nice. Why a mob resets less than
3 minutes after you've killed it, particularly a quest mob of that size?
I don't know, but I do know that's quite dumb and more than a little
irritating.

Wasted 2 hours of 4 peoples time and my own. Good times!

Game got so slow lately. Nobody interested to just go do things it seems,
everybody focused on some imaginary finish line and running there as
fast as possible. Oh well, off to find something more interesting. Have
fun running!

Johan examines the staff.
Johan exclaims 'Yes! you have done it!
He calms himself and says, 'I can transform this staff into the staff of
Ulmat-Took! Our village will be saved!'
Johan excuses himself to another room.
Congratulations! You have just completed The lost staff!
You receive 59388 gold as a reward for completing the quest.
You receive 6 training points.
Johan leads a mass of villagers to crush the highlanders.
When he returns he thanks you profusely and hands the depleted staff
over. He then retires to his bedroom.

A Statue of Seed

This impressive statue is dedicated to the hero who saved the village
from the marauding hordes of Highlanders. The craftsmanship is quite
remarkable.
This item is in good condition.
It looks EXTREMELY heavy.

Only took 4 tries, due to cheat preventions and things they don't tell
you when you start the quest. To be safe, don't do ANY items while in
a party. Otherwise you find out the hard way it doesn't count at the
end. Not even non-combat healing in a party =(

Good prize though! Thanks for the idle heal/buffs Kiomet =)

Robbery in moonlight is a fun, short, no killing required quest. Rather
easy too, even the quest challenged should be able to figure it out.

You have been awarded an award for your work in the Alignmayhem event.
Check Church of All Gods.

a small altar, draped with a cloth <red glow>

This small stone altar is dedicated to the forces of Evil. The cloth is red,
with the unholy symbols of various demons and fiends burned into the cloth.
This is the prize for the team that won the Alignmayhem event in 2008.
It is surrounded by a red glow.
This item is in good condition.
This is your altar. You have the following powers available:
alignmayhem physical -- get a bonus to your physical stats until you quit
alignmayhem mental -- get a bonus to your mental stats until you quit
alignmayhem move -- move your altar to your starting location
It looks ridiculously heavy.

Alignment Mayhem and Shamanic Deed. It's been an interesting two days!

The alignmayhem event was awesome and tons of fun from the evil side of
things, particularly being a tiger it gave some feel to what I imagine
tiger was like before all the missions were level 100 rebirthers in
big parties, with abilities that let them know you're coming when you
leap. It was a blast, I pk'ed alot of people big and small and didn't have
to feel one bit bad about it as there was no loss prays for everyone.
Good clean competition. Couple minor irritations with aggro mobs stealing
a pk kill, although nothing terrible.

It was definitely WAY one-sided, although we got Shar and Rocker both
along with some other super powerful characters, so that definitely
did nothing to balance out the inequality =) Not too many nuns showed
up and it turns out druid healers don't make good tanks.

I solo pk'ed a couple large people successfully, and solo'ed Rigger
and Mikaiyla once til Mikaiyla was unconscious, but Rigger got me
before I could make the kill. Quick tell to Nazrix and that problem
was solved though. Zap Zap!

Made one relic with Angu, dunno what it did exactly. Vague message.
Altogether I scored somewhere between 9 and 12 points for our side,
I didn't keep exact count but gotta be in that range.

All around it was a cool event, although lop-sided so I'm sure it was
aggrivating for tarmalens. Well.. too bad, now you know how I feel
everytime a mission comes up and it's a lvl 100 rebirthed tank, or a
lvl 100 backrow with 2 friends. Not so fun when the challenge is pretty
much impossible.

Completed Shamanic Deed today, after a couple weeks of poking around
the area, figuring stuff out, getting a couple tips and a good deal of
killing. It's an AWESOME quest, I highly recommend doing it. You can
explore much of it on your own, which is nice because you won't be holding
up a party while you read room descs and such. You can also do it in
stages, as you need to first make something to access the 2nd stage
of the quest. The thing you make is chestable (even the parts to the thing)
so that's very handy. Look at everything, talk to all the NPC's you can find,
and sometimes you just need to sit at a room and listen for room emotes or
an NPC to say something.

Thanks to Nepnep, Artea, Boot, Cneajna, and Sprite for helping me make the
first part of the quest, and Murgan for completing the object for me.

Thanks to Hair, Malystryx, Hemicuda, Gileon, Ktonis, Deepwood, and Pharm
for helping with the 2nd stage of the quest. Big thanks to Nosunrise
for helping get the ball rolling with that party. Cheers!

Did the areaquest help loranne today, with Angu. Valkrist came to blast
the last mob, which turned out to be about 300k and we killed it
twice, so that was fun.. the quest is a bit misleading cause there's some
other quest that also overlaps it a bit, which sends you to some
really nasty places. So watch that if you decide to do it, shouldn't have
to go anywhere too crazy.. and by 'we killed it', I mean I casted some
weak blasts while the high characters did the work. Still was fun.

Got some amulet out of it, but the crash took that away. Also explored
the rescue hannah's parents quest until the crash hit.

Done and I raped all the dragons around the dragon event lair and outworld.
Not bad exp, but they drop tune quick. The big dragon is supposedly about
400k and couldn't get the members to do it, so skipped it. Another time.

Orc Invasion...

A boulder reeking of a stench from an unknown place
This is a large and very heavy boulder. The worst part about holding it would
be handling the stench. It is large enough to fill a rather big hole.
This item is in excellent condition.
It looks heavy.

A deep, dark, smelly hole in the ground
block hole with boulder
Seed places a rather large boulder into the hole in
the ground, blocking access in or out by orcs.
Shortly, a magical force envelops the area and both the
rock and the hole disappear.
You get a small reward of 5 mithril coins for finishing this event.

Nice little mini-event I suppose, mildly entertaining 10 minutes..

Boring event, but not a bad reward (I guess)? Better than most of the events

As far as prizes go anyways.

Finished 'return the amulet' today, with help of Dafur, Daria, and
Kops. Unconventional members I suppose, folklorist defender, runemage
blaster, nun healer, and drow clawer, but it worked pretty well.
Easy quest, just matter of getting firepower to take down the two
bigger monsters, Zorthas and the blocker before him.

Thanks guys!

Footnote to the earlier entry, just before boot I gathered a party
of some of those members and couple who couldn't come after boot and
we scouted as far in as we could (got to the gate at the maze end). So
that helped quite a bit, as for not having the quest take even longer
after boot.

Success! Ivory Blades is in the books, as is the tiger guild. Hoo-rah!
In case anyone was unsure, meeting Shelaste does save over reboots, so
run it whenever you're bored and have no exp on til you find her, then
level up at your leisure.

Dink calls for a dicing.
Jeskko rolls: 82.
Dink rolls: 49.
El rolls: 44.
Lurkku rolls: 41.
Shadowwar rolls: 39.
Angu rolls: 28.
Whogmag rolls: 3.
Seed rolls: 2.

With the help of that party, we managed the mobs with only minor
incident. Dink led the last bit (Fester's exp size is deceiving, he is
a pain!). Got it done though, and it is a party quest so take some
people with that need the quest. We had 3 lvl 48's by chance or fate, so
knocked out the quest for 3 of us at once. It took about 3 hours, but
we could have shaved some time off had I not went the wrong direction
once finding the end of the maze the first time. That was a fun (read:
NOT FUN AT ALL) 20 minute mistake. A nun is useful for the last mob, a
druid is useful for fields because several use entrapment and AMF.

Besides the pain in the rear maze (clairvoyance and couple hundred low
coins recommended), the quest isn't too bad, aside from the pressure of
not being able to scout it out beforehand and figure out roughly what to
do. Few members had done it before so had some hints, but I did have five
people sending me tells plus party channel and I was trying to read
descriptions and make sure I didn't wipe the party.. gets a bit stressed.

Anyways, very hard is a good description for the quest. If you're going
to attempt it, take along plenty of firepower and at least one big solid
tank. Be prepared to be patient, some parts of it like the maze just take
a while to get through.

Thanks again to everybody who helped. Now looking forward to a few easier
quests. =>

Not done much exciting lately, alot of cash making and some exp. Finished
Caves of Orac areaquest tonight with Nau, Dreadlord, and Nerve. Pretty
plain one, not much to it. Couple nice cash items in the area though.

Bought a really nice lazy boy couch last night in great condition, for
1/5th what it costs new. Even came with an ottoman (the footstool not the
turkish ancestors). I think I'm gonna go use it now, cause finding people
for the Ivory Blades quest isn't happening =/

Found shelaste today.. sort of. Angu ran around the maze for a while and
we eventually stumbled into him/her/it. Hopefully that saves over
boot, because thats a mighty boring, irritating, and entirely
unentertaining maze. I would think for the last level of an assassins
guild the challenge would be something pertaining to assassinating
a mob, or player, or something.. not running through a maze of mobs
all too big for my level that track fast and chain dim maks once you
pass them. I can say I'm thoroughly disappointed with the 'end' to
this class. Be more creative, sheesh. Even completing a tiger mission
would be a better ending than that crapola.

On an up note, Thorswrath gave me a couple axes while I was idling.
For some reason.. but they sold for 5k, so thanks for that. If tigers
ever start using axes, maybe I'll regret it. Doubtful.

Investigated the Ivory Blades levelquest as far as I could without
muscles to back me up. Nasty little leprechaun got me, in the basement
with the candlestick (and maybe assistance from Colonel Mustard).

For some reason players scoff at the idea of attempting a 'hard'
levelquest, that I don't get. They've been mostly unsoloable for
quite a few levels now, no point to running away just cause you might
have to gather a party and read some room descriptions. Guess the
mindless kill, rinse, repeat just doesn't suit me so well as some.

You are prepared to do the skill.
You swing your foot heavily, and *SLAM* it against box!
A burst of acid shoots at you from the box!!

I guess by 'detect trap' they meant you 'detect' it by having it explode
in your face. I've trained detect traps to maximum every level, and I have
avoided exactly ONE trap. Same with pick locks, tried at least 50 doors,
gates, etcetera by now, probably alot more than that. Only ever found a
handful that I can actually pick with 65 skill even.. one in Amphitheatre,
a couple in Catfolk tree. What a pointless skill progression if it's so
useless until the very elite levels. Even newbie areas locks are too
complex.

THINK before you CODE!

Lead some exp today, trained at just about the perfect time, as clones was
run a couple minutes after we took break followed by frog of war and a
couple other events. Guess wizards don't have much timing to speak of, as
events always seem to come in big chunks and then none at all. Too bad
they can't manage to spread out a little more.

Scouted out Return the Chest today also, and figured it out, so just need
muscles to complete that one now. Angu reinced again (surprise! not really)
so we went for some good exp too. That was fun.

Return the chest has a complete disconnect, as far as I can tell with
one syntax to get to the mountains after you've found the mayor. No
hints anywhere as to the syntax, or even that the syntax is in that
particular room. That was pretty lame, had to ask around for that.

Finished Victi Vicimus quest today at the Amphitheatre. Quest was actually
pretty simple, turns out I just missed reading a room description. Make
sure you read every one when doing this quest, and it won't be too hard
to figure out. The only thing difficult was beating the monster required
to complete the quest, though Mariska helped by standing outside and healing
buffing raising me. Few runs and I had it dead.

Onward to the exp grind now.. yuck.

he said was par. He gave me a wooden penny, and a small piece of sterling
silk. Have no idea what to do with the penny, nothing from identify, no
clues from asking around. These mini-quests mostly seem to have rewards
somewhere between shitty and non-existant. No wonder nobody does them.

Interesting idea, entertaining for about 5 minutes. Not doin it again for
that junk though..

Killed the big guy in the basement of Kender Mansion today.. I was going to

444704: Bruthakas, the leader zombie of the cellar

decent but not too awesome.

Saw my first bard play today also, that was neat. Some guy named
Nazrix screwed around til he made us all aggro him. There's a big
surprise, someone being an ass on a MMO.

Nazrix sweats murky green liquid and utters 'krkx murk arrsunt'
Nazrix squirms and struggles to keep composure as her glands start to swell
violently from the foul liquid gushing into them. A terrible reek fills the
room
as her skin fails to contain substance.
Exhausted from movement Nazrix coughs out green slime.
You hear a faint wail from her throat as her glands start to burst out fumes
again.

Seed hits Nazrix twice causing a nasty laceration.
The toxic fumes surrounding Nazrix make your skin and lungs boil painfully!

Nazrix is DEAD, R.I.P.
Nazrix's corpse is collected by Death, clad in black.
Ghost of Nazrix [ghost]: faggots what are you doing

Went to Renardy today, after stowing away on Marvin's boat. Quite a bit of

Finally managed to finish the Enchanted Cloak quest at giant killers
today, with alot of help from Bloodhunter and Artea. Just over a week of
fooling around with it, feels good to have finally finished it.

I don't know how that qualifies as "not very hard" a quest. Secret
rooms everywhere, 2 sets of difficult mobs, plus the mage you have
to kill at the end that casts destroy armour. Not very hard is a pretty
bad rating, in my opinion. Then again maybe with a mage or something
it could have been easier. I don't know. Seemed pretty hard to me.

Second... why is this commercial on at 4pm. This is the kind of slop
that should be on at 4am, not the middle of the afternoon.

Well, I completed the Enchanted Cloak quest today with some muscular help
from Jkk, and Sarmangoth on the quest boss (the mage). Turns out whoever coded
the quest did it in the standard 'good enough' fashion of lazy coders, so
the quest didn't complete. Apparently if anyone other than the quester picks
up an item (related to the quest) and drops it, the quest fails. So I get to
do it again later. Oh well, at least I know how now.

Another hint. If you're exploring in Pauper's, and you pull the big iron
ring, get ready for a giant troll to kick your ass.

Productive day today. Finished up shrine search with an hour long trek getting
to and from the Leech shrine (holy shit!). Angu helped me with a few of
the remaining ones I had to do, so it went a bit quicker after that. Also
got the Hunt Quest with Livingstone finished just now.

Livingstone takes the corpse from you.
Livingstone exclaims 'Just what I was looking for. You are showing talent,
 young hunter!'
Livingstone pays you your reward, 1643 gold coins.
You gain 7 hunt points, your total in this reinc is 250 points.
Congratulations! You have just completed Master hunter!
You receive 2955 gold as a reward for completing the quest.

It's been a major bitchfest today on the channels. Amazing how many
people are miserable and love to share all their bellyaches via in-game
channels. If you're that miserable, why not just eat a bullet and save
us all the irritation of your presence here?

Finally completed a hard level jewel for the newbie enchanter with some
help from Angu. I stopped counting my failures, but easily gotta be around
a dozen failures and 2 successes. Seems pretty sadistic for a newbie task,
but I suppose that's mudding!

Found an injured messenger on the side of the road and delivered
a message for him to Meleager at the Rusty Shield Bar. He
gave me a scroll of invisibility. What a ripoff, I
already have invisibility...

Ksahn helped me kill an urvile, after the one I killed disentigrated.
Apparently
20k corpse is not large enough, and getting help around here sometimes seems
nigh impossible, so I don't know what's expected of this newbie enchanter
stuff. Seems like it's not for newbie's at all.

Spent 30 minutes kiling an urvile that turned out to be 10k mob, hit crazy
hard. I threw a preserve corpse potion at the body and it disentigrated...
The corpse disintegrates from the strain.

Nice.. this game is getting less fun by the day.

Just finished Zonni quest, with the help of Murgan and a couple tanks
who volunteered. Managed to do it without even having a healer, and
one of my claws got Zonni. I tiger clawed a level 1000 god, that must be
worth something, right?

Quests and events are flyin today!

Just completed Minesweeper Event with Searc, we won after a few 'missteps'.
Fun event, definitely worth trying out!

I got Vulcan quest done today, not too hard or involved, just needed some
muscles to help with a couple mobs, which Angu provided. Thanks Angu!
Got a nice little bolt of lightning reward and some mithrils.

Successfully tracked down a reproducable instance of the problem with
lost text transmissions and overflow getting into the map window. Amarth
logged it (I think). Karma++ for me, going to buy a lottery ticket today.

Working on a 'hard items' list from the seedy-human, for the newbie
enchanter quest today. I found a couple of the items (barbed javelin and
golden potato), and I have 3 to go. Windmill helped me with the
goblin chief at enchanted forest, thanks! Wouldn't have got that done alone.

Now to go dig up a random diamond armour, fortune cookie, and moneybox...
hopefully before time runs out!

Small Well is not an appropriate area to read room descriptions.. unless you
don't mind drowning in a bog. In that case, go ahead. Take your time!

Strange day today. Got some more of the Livingstone animal hunt quest done.
Endure was helping me work on a medium drow corpse for a while, but
all the drows we found in drow tower weren't big enough. Someone held
a giant get together at 'sc' and about 70 people showed up, along with
some smurfs. Capula is having some sort of give-away extravaganza. I dug
a bunch of holes this morning looking for chests Capula had hidden and all
I got was a bunch of negative eps. He did some trivia also but it was all
stuff from years ago in the mud about himself, had no clues there.

Pretty weird day.

Angu took me on an exp bonanza today for about an hour, after helping me
with something. That was fun, got a bunch of explore rooms from Simon's Hut
area and a ton of exp in short order. Not that I couldn't have done it
by myself .. I just didn't want to! (he says sarcastically)

I finished the drow summoner quest today, so I'm 2 for 8 now. I got a human
type as
easy sacrifice, and there was some in the asylum Jkk showed me not far away,
which ended up being WAY easier than tracking down a suitable spider corpse
over 5k but not huge. I solo'ed the spider demon and all went well, so I'm
left to assume it must require solo defending the summoner during the
incantation. I'll try a medium sacrifice next, and hopefully it's not
ridiculous. Apparently the limit for that is not level 30 either, as some
suggested it might be. So that makes it a bit easier.

Tried the drow summoner quest again today. Amd and Ssorca volunteered to
help me wrangle up a corpse, which turned out to be a giant ordeal. I needed
a spider, so we went to the rainbow area and fought a spider queen. Amd said
it was turbo, it turned out to be almost 90k, and was resistant to all sorts
of damage. What a pain. That corpse got destroyed, so we went to some other
area but the spiders weren't big enough, so we went to digga's troll cave
where I saw a 'giant spider' the other day exploring. We spent time killing
it, turned out to be about 80k, but far easier than the turbo one. Low and
behold, it was a giant race and not a spider race. How does that make any
sense at all?

At any rate, Amd left to read a book and Ssorca and I went back to the rainbow
area where the spider had reset, and we killed it with ease (in it's normal
size). I took the corpse and sacrificed it at the summoner, and we killed
the spider demon almost immediately, but the quest still failed for some
reason. I'm starting to think whoever wrote this quest was on crack. Of the
7 times I've attempted it, only once it has worked, and I was at 46 hps by the
end of that time. That's "easy"?

Spent half an hour fighting a spider that turned out to be 25k, stupid
thing kept healing as fast as I did and hitting me for half my hitpoints on
entry so it took forever to kill. Took the corpse to the drow summoner for
the sacrifice, and the stupid spider demon attacker did the exact same thing
so the sacrifice failed. Why are these games always run by sadists? Aren't
there any normal, fun loving game programmers?

Made another drow enchanter jewel today, just did an easy one. Took about
10 minutes, as opposed to the several hours tracking down the medium
difficulty items. I never did find the stale loaf of bread yesterday.

Oh just a note about last entry, HUGE thanks to Acidia and SUPER MEGA HUGE
thanks to Sprite for helping me complete it!

The gong quest is.. ridiculous. There definitely aught to be a note on it
that it requires aid of other players. I tried to complete it half a dozen
times before finding out about dimension doors. That is not so cool. Not
to mention my 2nd to last attempt was going to be a success before a clone
event obliterated me. Well, that is that. Really really terrible luck I
suppose. Anyways, fun quest once you get the help required to complete it.
I even made the high scores list.

a huge bronze gong <red glow>
You strike the gong.
A huge cloud of smoke suddenly appears out of the center of the gong. You are
unable to see anything.
As the smoke quickly vanishes away you notice that your surroundings have
changed.
You have hit the gong 5 times. This has taken you 17 min 54 sec.
You made the high score list!
Congratulations! You have just completed Gong!
You receive 4228 gold as a reward for completing the quest.

Top gong times:
 1 acentaja 7 min 17 sec
 2 butti 9 min 2 sec
 3 nerya 11 min 45 sec
 4 tarken 12 min 8 sec
 5 seed 17 min 54 sec
 6 logrim 18 min 14 sec
 7 visk 19 min 28 sec
 8 tienov 20 min 33 sec
 9 badaxe 21 min 54 sec
10 khazana 22 min 39 sec

Games are supposed to be fun. Here's why the clone event is not fun:

1) It is not a clone of me. I cannot instant teleport to someone
multiple times.
2) I cannot hit twice as hard as I hit.
3) I cannot heal many times faster than I heal.

I've been trying to do this ridiculously hard gong quest for
the past 4 days, and finally I was on the verge of completing it
after alot of help from Acidia and Sprite, and several tries using
their help, and now I die to this stupid clone when I needed only
to hit the gong one last time.

If something isn't fun (for everyone involved), it shouldn't be in a game.
A challenge is one thing, I like challenges. This wasn't a challenge.
It was a massacre. The clone event is not fun.

Did the rat collector event again today.. killed all 50 rats
this time..

You throw the corpse into the pile in the corner.
Seed throws a rat corpse into the pile in the corner.
The Rat Collector says 'Here is 100 coins for the corpse.'
The Rat Collector says 'So far you have brought 50 corpses.'
The Rat Collector says 'Hmmm.. this should be enough.'
The Rat Collector shouts 'The person who collected the most rat corpses was
Seed with 50 corpses brought in.'
You are awarded some experience for saving the city.

What a boring event.. kill kill kill, throw throw throw. No imagination
there. Oh well, not one I'll be participating in again!

Ran into a NPC called Jimmy 'the legs' Murphy, who had a burning
cart. I bought a cask and put out the fire, and he gave me 3500 gold. Not a
bad deal!

Kops helped me get several ogre corpses, due to some being too small and
a couple turning into undeads several seconds after killing,
before we had a chance to preserve them. We finally did get
a corpse of appropriate size (a 36k ogre mage) and i got it
to the summoner. When I sacrificed it, the first spider demon
we ran into killed Kops in 3 rounds and put me to 150 hps. Suffice
to say, I failed defending the summoner and that sacrifice
failed. Seems pretty intense for a medium level, but oh well.
I guess I'll try again tomorrow.

Spent most of today trying to make another jewel for the drow summoner
to enchant for me. I tried medium items this time, and they weren't bad except
for the candy bar from the orc scout tree took me a couple hours to figure
out. Sprite gave me some hints on that after I got frustrated from going up
and down the tree several times looking. I figured out to the password
part myself and she gave me a hint where to look from there. Fil
helped me get one of the random items, and I spent about 6 hours
figuring out the 'a meat pie, fit for a cavalier' item. Turns out it
was in the drawbridge area. I went to every grocery store, pub, and restaurant
in all the big cities, the catfolk tree restaurant, and the Four Winns Inn
before Hobbes told me it was definitely in the drawbridge area. I went and
looked around it for a while, and finally Pancake showed me the kitchen
area I missed somehow.

What an ordeal. I'm a bit afraid to try the 'hard items', if that was
just medium!

I found 'a seedy-looking human in a bad suit and hat' and found out
he offers a quest (sort of). He gives you jewels for bringing him
a list of items he asks for, which you can take to the drow summoner
a little west of arelium. You have to get a corpse the summoner requests and
then protect him while he does a ceremony. Then you can get a piece
of armour from a merchant and get it enchanted by the drow. Having a spider
around for the ceremony helps, according to the drow. Beanos made me an
o-yoroi (for free, thanks!) and Endure helped with the enchantment process
and helped me figure out where to go once I had the jewel.

Cool quest!

Been doing mostly explore lately, certainly seems like the way to go. I'm
closing
in on 30% and the exp it gives is really adding up. Ruby shoes are a
lifesaver,
great for exploring more safely!

Got rescue dorian (lq30) done, thanks to some muscle help from Zhaozhi and
Fil. Very cool quest, highly recommend it!

I did the area quest at the dark castle last night as well. El helped me
with the magician and the priest, which were very tough to put a dent in solo.

I started Batmud a few days ago. I played here in the mid 90's for a bit, but
never really got into it. It's totally different now, much improved I
would say.

This blog feature is neat. I like the maps alot too, and most of the quests
have been fun, although some are too easy I think.

I did alot of the newbie quests the past few days, mostly they were easy
and I was able to solo, although a couple I needed help beating some monsters.

Amra and Endure helped me with the last mobs in beastlands, and Fil helped
put the muscle into the Zoy's monsters. Jarear's was well worth doing also,
lots of mithrils for that one.
