Balanced Alternative Techniques ry, the Finnish non-profit
organization which supports the development and operates
BatMUD, has today filed for US and EU Community trademarks
for BatMUD.

This does not alter BatMUD's free nature, or the operation
of Balanced Alternative Techniques ry in any way. It does
however, offer us better control of how the mark BatMUD is
used in the future (i.e. someone can't suddenly advertise
a "BatMUD 2" game without approval from B.A.T. ry).
