the US attacked Afghanistan without the approval of the UN?
what does UN approval have anything to do with the fact that we asked the
Afghani gov't to hand over the terrorists that were hiding out in THEIR
country so that we could hold them responsible for what they did?
their answer: "NO!"
so we give them time to come to their senses and they still say no.
after repeatedly asking and giving them time, THEN we start bombing them. and
i don't think taking control of the country away from the Taliban was such a
bad thing to begin with. i'm slightly disappointed that we didn't do it
sooner. women and children lived in fear and poverty in that country way too
long! and i'm not saying it radically changed overnight either, but at least
they now have the chance for a better life, under Taliban law they had no
choices.
so screw the UN! and for the "tension" that we created...it was already there,
we just took the stopper out of the bottle and let it go!
This from some great American mind. Btw the facts are all wrong, Afghanistan
offered to hand over bin Laden twice, once before the war and once during the
war. Before the war US refused to provide proof for the Taliban leaders
implicating bin Laden in 9-11 which was requested in order to extradite him.
During the war Talibans offered to extradite bin Laden to stop the bombings.
US rejected the offer.
