First of all, thanks for the event. I at least wish more this kind
of special things, gladiators, eggs, etc. It's nice to have something
else to do, besides the grinding.

HOWEVER, egghunt was seriously flawed in how it worked. New eggs
kept appearing (good), but the picked eggs repopped (bad bad bad).
They repopped really fast too. When you're promising 1 tp/egg, this
is even worse. I had found about 75 eggs, when I talked to Naurava,
who had 180+. Only at this point I realized they repop, and went up
to 120 in no time (no, I didn't get full 120tp, didn't really think I
would either). A bit stupid of me I guess, but it honestly didn't even
occur to me they might repop, the idea is just so silly.

Some math: take area with 10 eggs (Bigeaul, Laku, few more at least).
Repops every 30 mins (they seemed faster, but lets assmue 30). 20 eggs
every hour, with just 5 hours you get 100 eggs (tps) from Bigeaul alone.
Really really really bad system, even worse when some of the players
get informed in advance about how it works and others not.

Good system would be either no repops, just the regular adding up to
support the late starters. Even better would be personal eggs. Either
if you find one, it will be there for others to find, or it will
repop for others. Too late for this event, but please use more
consideration about the way events play out in the future.

Another comment:

The timing of the event was rather poor for american time zones. As far as I
know it started at boot (middle of the night when I'm asleep!) and ended at
about midnight EET (while I'm still at work). So for me, it ran 2 AM to 2 PM
local time.

Maybe it's just me and I suck for not really playing when at work, but it was
dissapointing to have this special event I couldn't really participate in if I
wanted to. I would've given it a shot if it had run for entire bat 24 hrs of
bat birthday.

Most of the top participants started around 17 EET (5 hours
after boot) or later. The ending was unforeseen, but I guess
Shinarae got spooked by the amount of eggs people were
harvesting. I know I collected last 45 eggs in what, 30ish
minutes after figuring out they repop. I'm sure I could have
kept that rate of harvesting for quite a while, as well as
the other contestants... Just my guess on the subject, the
event itself was quite fun. Just the repops ruined it.

Is there any chance we could do this, or something similar, on Sunday, with a
bit of forewarning to give everyone a chance to compete?

It sounds like it was awfully fun but I just wish I could've participated, and
I'd like to think others feel this way as well.

I started the event around 8-9am PST, or somewhere around there and I did it
until Shinarae ended, which was only 3-4 hours of trying this event instead of
the full 12 hours. I was only a few eggs behind second place, in fact if I had
an extra 30 seconds I would have gotten 2nd place. If I would have started at
boot I would have gotten several hundred eggs. One only needed a few hours to
collect a fair amount of eggs to get on the top 10. I just wish I knew when
the event started or remembered, I could have made out quite nice. Not that
many people truly participated devotedly, obviously, if I was able to get that
many eggs by only playing in 20-30% of the total event time. I think the
awards Shinarae promised (1tp/egg) were generous, but after finding that many
eggs that quickly, Searc/Era/Me didn't really expect to get those awards.
Maybe the event should have been 24 hours, but Naurava (and the rest of us egg
hunters) were praying it wouldn't and really just wanted it to end, because it
was very...tedious work after awhile. This event was fair game for anyone to
win if they gave themselves a few hours, so it was nice, I didn't log on and
give up instantly, a lot of people did though. (Sorry for the disjointed post,
I'm tired) But it was a decent event, the coder (Shinarae) openly told things
about the event if asked by players but didn't volunteer it in posts, which
encourages interaction/customer support/feedback for these mudwide events.

I can't be the only one who sees something wrong with this. Finding several
eggs in 30 seconds means you are botting/running_code or an exceptionally fast
typist. .. and I'm finding the fast typist thing unlikely.

You quoted my sentences and you failed to read them, I said if I had 30
seconds I would have gotten second place since I was only a __FEW__ READ: 2,
eggs behind. Chaste you make it seem like I was some robot-thief, yes there
was someone who triggered things, I didn't. I used commands written with my
own hands after exploring and that was legal, Finding 2 eggs in 30 seconds
isn't unrealistic if you bothered to play the event and saw how frequent some
areas had eggs, especially areas which had the same 5 items in every room to
search!

It was a good event, but as Shinarae said, most people didn't care, he offered
1tp/egg and only 1-5% of the mud even bothered to type "search x" once in any
area it seemed. If players aren't motivated to play in these events it's not
cause to blame those who tried. And another note, I think the even only ran 12
hours because it had(or was easiest) to be implemented at a boot and Shinarae
only wanted it to to until 11:59pm (23:59 EET) April 15. (Correct me if I'm
wrong Shinarae) so that's only 12 hours, since boot occurs noon Finnish Time
and anniversary ends 23:59 EET. It was a nice event and I learned some things
about areas I exp in, and I wasn't punished for taking my time looking.
