As it stands, racial skill and spell bonuses are pretty useless in most cases.
It is quite stupid that a catfolk's dodge bonus disappears once you train 10%.
Maybe the racial bonuses should be reduced, let's say by half, but please do
let them stay, and be _bonuses_ and not just some useless crap.

I don't think the mud is ready for this yet, but I think we should one day
take that one step further and have all races be particularly good/bad at a
variety specific skills and spells. Essentially, remove global
skill/spellmaxes. I think what we have now will work fine till we're ready for
that. The hard part probably wouldn't be so much implementing the change as
finding a way to display it to players on guild infos.

Ps: I don't think that catfolk need anything more going for them.

example, an ogre with higher intelligence and wisdom than a thrikhren should
be a better caster.

no, sorry it dosent work like that. Thriks would have more sense about magic
due to their genetic composition and subtle features such as being sensitive
to telepathic or magical energies. Ogres, put through college are still dumb
fucks who dont know what the hell magic is (unless your blayke who happened to
be the only rocking ogre caster/tank/destroyer ive seen in my life).
