In various situations, the news status gets reset, and I need to manually
re-catchup on news. It seems that there's no real way to just mark the first
800 articles of a group unread...so if there was, say, a week or 2 between the
time i last read news and today, there may be 50 posts that i want to read. If
I want to read the last 50 posts, I have to type: 950<enter>951<enter>952<enter

You're right. I'll add the ability to catch up up-to Xth article. As soon as I
get more free time.
