Why not define some guilds as "newbie" guilds which can't be (re-)joined by a
character of XX days age? Say for example tarmalen, if a player is "old" (100
days) it's way too late to start studying medicine (ref. the 78yo swede in
Denmark who started medicine school but was denied to be an intern).
This would make newbies (tarma newbies, in this case) valued members in
parties, making it easier for new players to become a dear member of the great
BATmud family.
Other guilds could have a "midbie" limit.
I see possibilities here to avoid need for tunes, don't you guys?
