I think this has been posted before but here comes again...

Please remove backgrounds.

Replace the "Background must be ..." with other requirements like
"race/stats/alignment/whatever must be/must not be"
and of course the old "cannot be member of the following guilds..."

I.e. for example nuns could have something like
Alignment must be good, gender must be female.
Cannot be a member of the following races: troll, lich, skeleton, zombie,
cyclops, demon, duergar etc.
Cannot be a member of the following guilds: reaver, mage, conjurer, barbarian,
evil priest, monk.

summa summarum, there is no reason to restrict people from making a mage-bard
but there is a reason to restric people from making nun-crimso-conjurer.

Please, at least consider it?
