about merchants and the eq tune..
why not give a 1hr grace period when eq is given to a new person,
stops the clock one the rot for 1 hour so merchants can do all the
protn' idn' reparin' molestin' they want. however you could have
those people who say "hey let me give you this eq and you give it
right back to me so I can exp for an hour!" but keep it mind it dosent
have to be an hour, could be any amount of time, even 10min would do.

No.
There are a million ways to abuse that. The tune is here to stay and no amount
of whining will remove it or change it in the near future. After some time has
passed (a few months) I might look into it to see if something needs tuning,
but for now it stays like it is.

Okay, for the most part I feel that wizzes here think things through and are
generally judicious people, etc...but Malar's post just now seemed to be quite
the wrong attitude for an administrator in such a game. He displayed that he
doesn't think things through, makes random statements about 'millions of ways
to abuse' etc which show that he didn't care or bother to put the thought into
the issue to find ways to overcome the abuses...and he said 'no amount of
whining' etc...well, I think it's ridiculous that someone should code
something and be so set in stone that they will turn a blind eye and refuse to
change it even if a change is obviously needed...
I'm not saying this particular issue needs to be changed, just that it's not
reasonable for the administration to be so set in it's ways that it will
announce that it will turn a blind eye no matter what because they coded
something. This seems like a crazy policy to set.
I'd expect that a more reasonable response to blackie's post would have been
something like "I don't see the need currently for this change, but will keep
it in mind if a problem arises" or whatever.

It takes time to see how the tune works right now. There is no immediate need
for a tune, and so it's better to leave it as such so we can see how it works
in the long run.

Malar is _NOT_ an administrator.

Howabout mercs being able to repair stuff in pcity (batcity) room that
prevents eqdamage. That way ya cant go anywhere with that prot and therefore
would help just for repairing. Of course nosum for pkilltm abuse or if bcity
room only mercs coulda enter too...
