It was past noon when we arrived at the Valley of Kings, and the sun was
scorching. Beside myself there was my old friend the bloodthirsty Kovi, a
grandmaster of chaos, and two pack mules for all the loot we were going to
find. After hearing about the valley full of mysteries and adventures we had
set out to find our own fortune there.

And there we were, one mule lost because of Kovi's strange lust for blood,
and the other sinking in quick sand near a mountain range. We had been
traveling from the northern part of the valley towards a huge pyramid near a
volcano when a lone falcon had circled above us.

Had we not stopped to look at it we might have been able to save the mule in
time. Sadly the mule had lost its vocal cords when Kovi demonstrated how
mules can eat swords too, and couldn't make a noise when sinking as we were
looking at the falcon. The adventure was over, we had no mules to carry back
the possible enormous loot we were going to gather.

We decided to make camp there for the night and head home the next day.
Kovi's eyes gleamed with mad excitement when the whispers and strange voices
started at night. Our entire camp sank into the quick sand soon after, and we
began our strategic retreat to the Rusty Shield in BatCity.

...now later and wiser I urge all adventurers to stay away from that place, it
is dangerous and deadly. Rather, join me in the Rusty Shield and have
adventure from pint to pint to pint to gutter.
