Yes this was the big thank you given to all of the city owners who acted upon
the big announcement months ago which said: Pay your city taxes through the
end of the year and you will be rewarded!... Some of us fools went out and
did just that... paid for all of those months, including December...
I guess the lesson learned here is don't try to do anything ahead of time!

announced last november) was delayed and almost not acted on due to fear that
people would whine that they were getting treated less fairly than others.
However, a number of people with max-prepaid taxes on big cities stepped up
and said that they didn't care how fair it was, just stop the taxes. And the
wizzes did it. You got uptuned, you dont need to pay january taxes...but maybe
if we whine enough about how unfair it is, we can get them to put the field
back to level by reinstating taxes for everyone! Bring on the whines!

in regards to the promises and the subsequent removal of some of the taxes
from the defend Arelium event...

So I ran off and paid my taxes... now I really don't give a shit if I don't
get that money from December taxes because I have a tiny ass city... but I'm
sure others with (much) larger cities than mine ran off and paid up through
the end of December based on the assumption that "This is what is going to
happen folks, it is not subject to change" actually meant "This is what is
going to happen folks, it is not subject to change"...
I understand that things change but when you have language such as that, I
would expect that things wouldn't change...
