Oh why can i remove a breastplate, which should be quite tricky with all the
stuff keeping it in shape, in the dark, but i cannot drop a freaking nullium
nugget i happen to pick up, "Oh woe is me, i cannot see, i surely cannot drop
this rock i'm holding, but oh boy, isn't it hot here, i'll just remove this
breastplate with a thousand and one straps in odd places." Maybe we could get
even some fuzzy sense of what we are carrying so we could drop stuff: Your
inventory holds something pointy, something round and something that smells
bad but cannot really be thought of as a shape gods damnit!

GEE! i picked up a nullium nugget a few seconds ago but i sure dont know what
this darkness is all about! wow, only if i could drop what im carrying! to bad
its to dark to ..DROP THINGS.

Sure if you're carrying those five breastplates, couple dozen torches and
other things in your pockets you could drop them in the dark.
But since this is a fantasy mud, let's say you have an imaginary back-pack
you're hauling all those things in your inventory. So in the dark you shuffle
through your pack but can't find that damn nullium chunk but you can easily
know where your breastplate or what ever you are wearing is so it's easy to
remove.
PS. it's a magical nullium chunk that radiates darkness through your imaginary
back-pack.
other things in your pockets you could drop them in the dark.
