Could we have the brief command adjusted so that, as well as toggling
brief by using 'brief' we can do 'brief on' and 'brief off' to
turn brief on and off.
This would help, mostly, with commands for traveling between
places (e.g. around Arelium) by allowing brief to be set
during a series of movements.
Actually, it would be even better if it was possible to indicate
that a particular command was to be carried out with brief on
and then allow brief to return to whatever setting it was before
the command.

Easy way to make sure brief is in the mode is this:
brief brief
brief verbose
First one forces you to brief mode, whichever mode you are currently
in, and the second forces you to verbose mode.
