I'd like to see more multi-background guild options. An example would be Nomad
being allowed to take a limited amount of druid levels and caps on what can be
trained. Maybe get even more specific than that and say that certain nomad
guilds can get more out of the druid levels...rangers, being in tune with
nature, can take more levels/get more skills than barbarians, who don't really
care, or cavaliers, who are too military minded. Loc's could get a bit of
sabre fence/cadence, since they are both guilds focused on 'the blade'.
I know the player base is shrinking, and something like this may pull in some
of the errant sheeple.
Also, i'm willing to bet the loss of a reinc sim is causing people to stay in
their reinc longer, which equals boredom for some of the players out there,
less money spent on guild costs, and less exp pulled out of the player base.
Would an admin sponsored reinc sim be that bad? It wouldn't need that
specific. Hell, a rough and sloppy reinc sim is better than none. I know half
of my reincs occured because I would play on the sim, think '...oooh, i could
do a sprite tiger and get some priest levels to boot! neat!'. Then I'd grind
some cash, do a slow reinc, and work some regain.
The continent tune is great, I love it. I've supported it since day one, and
the admin has done a good job of patching issues that have come up while
standing firm on the concept of 'travel isn't easy.' I realize, however, that
making the game a little tougher has pushed people who were getting bored with
the game over the edge into retirement. Something is needed to pull them back
in...or to encourage a swarm of new members. I've shown the wonders of Batmud
to dozens of people, and have managed to get one addicted. I will continue to
preach to friends who play WoW and Evercrack that they are missing out on a
much better way to waste their time.
I'm rambling now. Signing off.
