It just occured to me that although I've been playing for a while I have no
idea who the current wizards or past wizards are that have contributed to the
game. And I doubt players with less experience than me would know much either.
So my idea is a Wizard pilgramage event where players go around a visit
shrines/statues to the various wizards/people who have contributed to Batmud
over the years. I would think that the shrines/statues are located at perhaps
zones that were created by the individual or nearby one of their works that
they take pride in. And each shrine/statue would maybe list a little something
about the person i.e their contribution over the years favourite moment or
whatever.
Although time consuming it would be doable by even lowbies giving everyone a
chance to learn about the games history and maybe it could have a nice exp
bonus rate until the next boot for those who complete the task. And on a side
note could include some nasty wiz alter ego that appears for those who dare to
mock the wiz monuments :P

Paying respects to wizards of the past is not such a bad thing, but not every
one of those wizards made areas.

Some wizards had the (mis)fortune of creating stuff you players can use every
day, like just some generic skills, spells or such, that have no area to bind
them to.

That being said, maybe a smallish exhibition-area would be nice that had a
wax-museum kind of feel to it, with wizards of the past.

Also, we have something along the lines of 400-500 wizards over the last 20
years. I don't know if people can even remember them all. At least I think
Moonlord had a list of a lot of the wizards and some info on what they have
contributed. Though, last I checked, it hasn't been updated in a while...

This has nothing to do with paying homage to the wizard in-game, but I guess
it still is reasonable to promete Ggr's pretty nice wizard list web page with
some photos and all!

There's also a Wizard memorial plaque in Arelium which lists all past and
current wizards, including their level and status (remort/purge/rm).
Levels might not be accurate, since some have re-wizzed or been purged and
came back or something, like Firefox for example.
