I have no idea why this event popped to my mind yesterday, but here it is:

its not much, just a fun memory..

Back in '98 or '99 i was a merchant, so a newbie friend of mine bought a blood
crown and wanted me to id the thing to make sure it was real. I was currently
in middle of cannibalizing something for my eq repairs, well i relocated to
the friend who then drops the crown, i cast id at the crown. The id shows _no_
stats at all.
I proceed to yell at the person who sold the crown, the person is very sorry,
gives back the money then asks me to id his own piece too, maybe the eq was
tuned? i id the crown and get the same result, no stats what so ever. Too bad
for poor newbies .
i takes the both crowns and destroy them, then i head back to fix my eqs, i
check my inventory for what i was currently cannibalizin, and there in my
inventory is a cloth crown. -) the crown i apparently was casting the id's at
all the time.
i never said a word to the newbies.
