As the power of water diminished some time ago a sleeping goddess awoke.
Laesa, she who governs the weather, looked down upon the world and noticed
that floods were no longer feared. Angered by this change she gathered her
powers and gave water back it's strength to move items where it goes.
Though where there is shift in the world, there is another as balance is the
power over all. In his wisdom Esachen took under his protection artifacts of
the world, artifacts that can not be touched by the power of water.

Perhaps he enjoys informing via that method instead of the method you
proposed. Also maybe he bought a new keyboard and the keys have too much
action in them so he's trying to break it in
