Most of the ideas sent to idea-wanted are just plain bad. So, if some post has
a negative rating I atleast don't even bother reading it. It's not just the
wizzes you have to please with the idea and its format.
Also useless ramblings like 'The other day I was walking down the street and
saw a bird which made me come up with this uber idea' are a sure way to lose
the audience. Bluntly said, nobody cares how you came up with the idea. State
clearly the main points of the idea if it's a complex one, if some wizard(s)
get interested they will talk to you.
We do want good ideas so use a bit of time to think about is your idea really
a good one, really. After that try to cut your idea in parts. Short
introduction crystallizing the idea in one shortish sentence, to get the
reader's attention. Body of the text with details. And then perhaps example(s)
if it's a complex idea.
My point is not to try to teach etiquette or documentation but to prevent the
good ideas to end up in the dumpster.
