All I can say is I have been an archwizard on batmud since 1993. That is a
long time, I even was an arch on another mud for a little while. But the
players we have here on batmud are what made me decide to devote my time and
energies to batmud. I spend alot of my free time just trying to the make the
game better, and I understand that technically most players could give two
shits about this.
Now I know, some will say boohoo Duke is a whiny game administrator, and
failed many classes and lost several jobs by coding on this game. And until
now, I have only a few things I would of changed about that past. But
recently I have noticed the tendency for mortals to resist all change and be
quite quick and sharp in their criticisms. They accuse me of not thinking
things through. All they do is insult me. Why is this? I can only think of
a few responses: One: They are right, I am a clueless idiot who doesn't know
anything. Two: We lack active coding so people are so bored the game is now
to insult the maintainers. Three: People are so hell bent on any change
they'll spend more time criticizing it that experimenting with the changes to
the game.

I guess, all I'm say is that two weeks ago (has it been that long?) this game
must have benen fun and people played non stop. but now they hardly have an
interest. I too have hardly an interest. Every day I come in to see the work
I have done for the past years going only to a group of no life losers (some
of which are fine but most are not). I thought the goal was the play a game
and have some fun, experiment with things, try new stuff. Talk to friends and
generally have a good time. But apparently it is not. It is too come off
looking like some "I know everything" pompus doofus. I can almost guarantee
HIGHBIES are the most BIGGEST whiners of all.

I guess I am going on record to say that: in my opinion, your whining is
neither constructive, encouraging, or even helpful. In fact, it s_u_c_k_s. I
hope that I am free to say that.

I'll see you after I have a good pout for a while, hopefully this mess will
have stabalized by then.
