Many veteran fishermen know the tales of the fishmage.
These magi held power few could fathom. Some stories
tell about these mystical characters speaking in fish tongue
and casually conversing with both trout and pike. Other
remarkable tales describe them hurling fish eggs at advesaries
which have magically transformed into lethal swordfish in mid-air.
Instead of wands these magi prefered enchanted fishing rods
which they had equipped with magical lures suited for the
task at hand.
Why would those of dry land ally with the sea?
Indeed some rare legends say these fishmages are known as
landwalkers among the fish, and are actually just the henchmen
of the great pike. They say lone fisherman are charmed by
tempting salmons in the tranquil of the sea - offered the
power of the fishmagi in return for servitude to the great pike.
