you know, this is one thing that has bothered me for years upon years. i
happen to be one of the very FEW north american mudders left in the game, and
i like doing eq and romping around for fun, cause its fun and such. but
really, when you got stupid ass shit like oh look, this monster is once per
boot and then global and triple rape protted. there are simply monsters and
quests and areas that i have NO, i repeat NO chance of doing. ever. take tiger
gms for example. i have had a holz for a long time, i mark all my kills. i
have one of each tiger gm in my holz. GOD FUCKING KNOWS HOW MANY THE RAPERS
HAVE. look at me, this monster spawns 90 seconds into boot and ppl are there
from 1 sec in waiting to see what it has to call the kill. look at trilloch,
my argument was simple from the moment i saw how ewige had the 'monopoly' on
the whole area and such, wow, look at his power level grow. then when ewige
immorted and the door was open for what, 1-2 months, oh look, mithrand owns
the area now. look at his power grow. (seeing some pattern?)
ya wanna know why most players on this side of the world dont even bother to
try? who wants to wake up at 3-6am to login to have no chance to even explore
something that is either monopolized or already dead?
bring back two boots. i remember a time when i could get home from school, and
have a chance to look around, see some once per boot things. to have to desire
to explore, why, because IT WAS STILL THERE AND NOT FUCKED UP. really, tell me
the reasoning for me to wake up at 3am in the morning besides to rally a
tiamat party?
and once again, nuke trilloch, all the vault eq, and all of trillochs eq. most
of that stuff breaks rules in the game anyways, as it gives you powers not
even boons can grant. oh look, rub my plate, it does some spell, for free. oh
look, rub my ring, it casts a spell, for free. oh look, wear this, my spells
are all cheaper. not even boons are that suffeli
(well maybe not....)
anyways, happy new year, if i should vanish, im sure no one will miss me

I doubt we'll bring back the two boot system, however we are
working on and testing "cloned areas", i.e. every party would
have their own copy of the area, and the rapeprot is then
party specific. Basically it's the same system that is used by
some other mmorpg's, but it needs to be tweaked a little to
fit BatMUD. But it should solve the global rapeprot / owning of
mobs issue.
